We just crushed their will to compete. The same thing happens to LSU and Mississippi State every year.

Okay. Then let’s just say that Bama crushes LSU’s will in the seasons that matter to LSU. Your last couple of seasons were pretty crappy and your bowls were less than desirable, were they not?

Maybe you played your asses off after the Bama game because your team preferred not to stay in BR during bowl season.

This take is so stupid it gave me a headache. Every season matters. The last two have been pretty much the same as any other post-2011.

But yeah, seasons where we fall off are due to losing to Bama. Also, interestingly enough, seasons where we finish strong are due to Bama. Bama makes good teams bad but also Bama makes bad teams good.

Hey bumfrick

The Louisville game was agreed to before anyone even knew how good Lamar Jackson was. The games are done years in advance.

Washington agreed to the Chicken Fil A game in the spring of 2016 after several losing seasons.

Saban can actually see just how good or more likely bad they'l be when Bama plays them

Thats right you rubes. Saban already knows how Texas will be in 2022 before a player has set foot on campus

We put L'vlle on the schedule will Lamar was still there and had eligibility.

Bama has done a better job than anyone else in the SEC at scheduling OOC games and its not a debate.

how the frick can Saban look into a crystal ball 3 years into the future knowing that theams won’t be that great?

Alabama inked its neutral site showdown with USC in July of 2014. At the time, Steve Sarkisian was preparing to enter his first season as USC's head coach. USC's small recruiting classes, limited by NCAA sanctions, led the Trojans to rank ninth in the nation in recruiting in 2012 (17 players) and 13th in 2013 (13 players). USC was not the USC of old.

The Wisconsin game was announced in March of 2013 -- three months after Bret Bielema left for Arkansas and Gary Andersen took over. Saban wasn't scared of Andersen, and he wound up not being scared of Paul Chryst, who after Andersen's departure opened his career as the Badgers' head coach with that Alabama loss.

This West Virginia contract was signed in May of 2012 after Dana Holgorsen's first year. The Mountaineers went 10-3, but Saban wasn't afraid of Holgorsen. I don't think Saban would have signed to play the Rich Rodriguez West Virginia teams that had it rolling a few years earlier. He probably thought West Virginia would be good enough to be ranked but misjudged.

The Virgina Tech contract was signed in the summer of 2011, when Frank Beamer was coming off an 11-3 year and heading into another 11-3 year. But guess what? Beamer was also 64 when the contract was signed, and coaches who are 64 (other than maybe 64-year-old Saban) aren't often on an upswing. Saban wasn't worried. Tech went 8-5 in 2013, Saban, again, probably a little peeved he didn't manage a cheap ranked win here.

The Michigan contract was signed in the summer of 2010, when Rich Rodriguez was coming off a 5-7 season and heading into what would be his final year. This is the epitome of fake good.
