You might could argue that if McElroy was still the QB, but with a new QB he wouldn't have the tendencies to throw to a WR he hadn't worked with extensively. A new QB would really need a presence like Julio Jones.
Yes and no. I think it could go either way. You could make an argument that a new QB would spread the ball around more if he had confidence with all the receivers or will use more since there isn't a proven "one". Right now, it's all speculation either way. I'm just excited for the season to get here and think we'll be ok offensively, in the running and the passing game.

Don't forget that JPW set quite a few Bama records by throwing to DJ Hall, keith Brown, and Will oakley.
The top 5-6 WRs currently on the roster are all better talents. It will all be up to the work they put in and the development of Sims/Mccarron.

D.J. Hall was good enough to have had a NFL career, if they work ethic would have been there. Mary jane seemed to be higher on the his list of priorities.
As for J.P Wilson, his passing records are more longevity than anything. Obviously he's still in the NFL, but he's one of the few three year starters Alabama has had at the QB position. That, and he was tough as hell, and absorbed all those hits, and continued to line up behind center.

The weakest link on our coaching staff has been by far in receiver coaching. We have signed numerous elite prospects and not a single one besides Julio (who never actually improved over the course of his 3 years) has amounted to anything. It's one thing to see a few highly touted recruits not pan out, but to see so many end up underachieving at one position while other average recruits are becoming stars at Arkansas makes you question the coaching.
Cignetti choosing to pursue other opportunities was a happy day for me.

I still have my doubts about Mike Groh as a WR coach, but his background as a OC at Virginia helps. He's also familiar with some of the current WRs, having been a GA for a year. He's a pretty solid recruiter as well.

Hart has also shown a great grasp of the offensive playbook. The former five-star athlete is one of the first on the field and last to leave and has given even some of the Tide defensive regulars fits.
I wasn't joking when I said he was pushing for the #2 spot.
He practices like he's a redshirt Junior...

I'm sure gator will be along to tell us how overrated Hart is, and was only signed to get Clinton-Dix.

I like seeing lacy getting serious. It always seems he had that whatever attitude. I think Lacy will surprise alot of people with his game this year. And with Hart coming on we will be able to do some different things.

Hart= 4 year ST player.
I kid, I kid. Looks like he's developing, which is something he needed to do. He still lacks game breaking speed IMO and isn't near as powerful as Ingram or T-Rich. IMO, he's a lot like Lacy, a nice solid back, but nothing spectacular. We shall see, and there's a long ways to go. Here's to hoping Hart proves me wrong. I'll say one thing about the kid, he will work his arse off, and he's very coachable. Great kid.

Sounds like Depriest and Hart have made the biggest impressions as far as Tr. FR are concerned. Also, sounds like Bama's secondary is really solid. However, the WR core isn't spectacular, therefore it's hard to judge how good the CB's are. I expect Dre to be a 1st rd pick in the draft, but that's JMO. Barron is solid at S and Lester has the most upside IMO. All in all, I expect Bama's D to be really good, and there O to attempt to play mistake free football.

I honestly think it won't matter who is #2 anyway, they will all be taking a backseat to T-Rich.
No back offers anything better by replacing T-Rich on the field, unlike when he replaced Ingram. He subbed in for Ingram various times for pass pro and needed big play situations.
A healthy Richardson won't leave the field unless he needs a breather, which by the looks of his conditioning, won't be often...

That goes a long way in my book.
Hart is a pleasant surprise for me.

You're right, he's not as good as Mike Ford like LSU fans a few years ago...

I'd still like to know we have two capable backups who can come in completely fresh in the 2nd half and wear down a, hopefully, tired defense.

No, we said that about Lacy. No one knew ford was gonna be afaid to take a hit. I mean look at him. He is Jacked just as much as TR, but rather than use that he try's to dance around
