Bama fans, please provide your best reason why you think you deserve

a rematch (if it happens).
Please try to consider this is about a National Championship, not a regional championship when doing so. Meaning this about all teams, all conferences are a part of this BCS process.
Wouldn't a rematch basically an SEC championship, not a National Championship? Is that not assinine? Why is LSU playing UGA then? When you really stop and think about this logically, it begins to really bother me... I understand your interest, but I wonder why it doesn't tweak your conscious, or maybe it does... so I am asking for more perspective that maybe i haven't considered.
Why would there be no penalty for losing to LSU and losing the SECW and SEC title?
If OU and Texas were going to get a rematch for the MNC while Alabama had one loss, would you not be really upset about the media talking about Texas and OU are really the best teams in the country and ignoring the SEC,specifically Alabama?.
would you not be saying this is not only unfair, but "how do you(media) know OU and Texas are the 2 best teams in the country?

2nd best team in the country = Bama

Because I'm a fan of both teams - I'm selfish and like things that benefit me.
That and I'd love to see the LSU meltdown.

Because when the conference commissioners designed the idea of the BCS they didn't have any requirements that a team must win it's conference to play in the BCSCG. They've had plenty of opportunity to change it over the years but they haven't.

The NC is determined by a formula that is set before the season begins. The top 2 teams using that formula play in the BCSCG. If Bama ends up on of the top 2 teams, then Alabama deserves a rematch.
The conference championship argument is a red herring, it has NOTHING to do with the above formula to which all teams are subject.

We're one of the two best teams. No other major undefeated team. Extremely close game with LSU that could've gone either way. Don't bother the OU-Texas hypothetical, SEC is undisputed King of College Football.
Oh, and we want to win the National Championship.
You can break it down statistically or find some formula to say OSU is better than Bama, but you don't really believe that. If Bama played OSU (or Stanford, VT, Houston)head-to-head, who would you bet on?

I personally do not think we deserve anything. I don't know if we will get a rematch and we are definitely not a lock for a rematch. I think that if we are ranked #2 after next week then that's all that needs to be said. I have also said that I don't think we will get a rematch. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong. If I'm right then I'm right, no whining, crying, etc. will come from me (Although I can't speak for the rest of the Bama fans).
I want us to celebrate our 11-1 regular season and a big win over Auburn for now and then let's get to work when we find out what bowl game we go to. If we are selected to play LSU in the title game then I hope we finish with a win (And in my opinion I think that the title will be split). If we are selected for another bowl then I hope we win. All in all, things are going to work out the way the voters vote. You can dispute or cry about it but it won't have any affect on the final score. I think at this point that all fans (Alabama included) need to just worry about their own team and hope that their team finishes the 2011-2012 season strong and with a win. Haters are gonna hate either way and that's something that you can't get around.
That's just my opinion.

Alabama is ranked #2 in the BCS standings. It is a likely probability that Alabama will remain #2 upon the conclusion of the regular season of college football.
According to my understanding of the Bowl Championship Series rules, the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the standings participate in the Bowl Championship Series National Championship Game. As such, I believe the Univeristy of Alabama football team deserves to play in the Bowl Championship Series National Championship Game.

simple answer - because
more complex answer - because other than LSU everyone else has some flaws with their team. the other one loss teams have flaws that are greater than Bama's. Their loses are all considerably worse than Bama's OT loss.
