b/c:
* no other team in the country other than LSU and Bama play DEFENSE!!!
* okie state was a 4 td favorite and choked to an unranked ISU team. Never ever should have happened.
* any team other than Bama would be double digit dogs to LSU thus making the BCS game a snoozerfest b/c it would be a blow out.
* the SEC is the BEST conference in all of College Football and is the CLOSEST thing to the NFL players will ever see or experience! (now if we could ONLY match the NFL salaries...consistantly. :-) )

It seems football games are played in the newspapers and on talk shows and not the football field anymore. Bama is clearly better matchup than OSU because all the writers said so.

We are ranked #2 at the end of the season going into bowl selection period.

Well, maybe the voters come to their senses
No, I think they did it for a reason. They realized there might be years where the best two teams might come from the same conference. The BCS is working this year it appears.

And bc of that awesome game on Nov 5 the came down to the wire that could've gone either way. Bama never flubbed up against and ISU-type team. Their only loss was to the undefeated, undisputed #1 team in OT. If there are no major undefeatetd teams, how is that not good enough?

Bama is a better team than OSU.

Because we are the second best team in the country and that is the goal of the BCS which is to match the two best teams in a one game playoff. There is no exception about being from the same conference or having played each other or winning your conference.

Please provide your best reason why we should waste time posting our reason to an anonymous poster on a message board whose opinion doesnt matter for shite

Andy Staples said it best:
"The chief argument against Alabama is that it will not win its conference. Actually, the Crimson Tide didn't even win their own division. Here's the problem with that argument. Alabama would have won the ACC. Alabama would have won the Big East. Alabama would have won the Big Ten. Alabama would have won the Pac-12. Alabama would have won the Big 12. When Alabama and LSU helped found the SEC in 1932, it's safe to assume they didn't envision a day 79 years in the future when their shared interests and geographical proximity would be the chief reason why they shouldn't be considered the two best teams in the country -- even though they are the two best teams in the country."

Of course it is flawed. It always has been. LSU didn't complain about the flaws in 2003 or 2007. Why complain now?
Don't give me the whole "we won our conference in those years" argument either. UCLA won their division this year. WVU or Louisville is going to win the Big East. Not all conferences are created equally. This year finishing 2nd in the SECW >>>>>winning any other conference. Fact.

I can only assume that since there is a specific rule in the BCS provisions that allows for a 3rd conf team to get into the BCS if that 3rd team IS the Conf Champion and the other two teams are ranked #1 and #2...The "must (or should) be a conf champion" argument has no legs.

It's not the job of the voters to change the system. What if the voters decided they didn't like Les Miles so they vote LSU number 3. You have to go by the rules until they are changed.

Bama only lost by 3 to the #1 team in the nation in OT.
OSU lost to a 4TD underdog...
You cant lose to a team you're so heavily favored over then play for the national title.
