It isn't. It's just that all of it is tied up in about 85 coaching buyouts.

LOL - It does have a bizarre Soldier Field quality to it.....they want to keep some of the traditional architectural features and then wrap it in a space ship.

I think they took BDS well north of 100K at height of the build out craze. However, better amenities, scoreboard, facilities would increase revenue and provide a better experience for those in attendance. Also, the home schedule needs to improve in addition to the regular SEC slate. No one wants sit through four quarters of watching Bama stomp an FCS opponent. Outside of LSU and Auburn and maybe Aggie, it's tough to keep those end zone cheap seats filled for four quarters. The recent addition of home games with Texas and Notre Dame will help. The neutral sites are more profitable but unless its a marquee match like USC, Michigan, or FSU, then they should provide a better home experiencw.

But do the bathrooms work? Last time I was there, the place had a plumbing failure.
I've been going to BD for over 20 years & use the restrooms frequently. Never had a problem, except for the long lines.

They were getting dated and need updating and expanding.

They're also moving the pressbox from the West side to the East side for more high paying fans . I going to miss being able to look up above me and see celebrities like Joe Namath in the pressbox.

It's not just Bama. I wish LSU would play some marquis non conference games at home. Sure we've got the benefit of the SEC being good enough that there's lots of exciting matchups. But you've got these nice stadiums and we no longer get to see these non conference games in their home stadiums

LSU and Florida State...legendary stadiums. Lots of money sank into them...they're going to play a series in New Orleans and Orlando.

LSU and Wisconsin...2 stadiums lauded for their atmosphere. We played at Reliant in Houston and Lambeau. I hate that.

I'd start going to games again if I could get access to the standing area.

The main reason I don't care for the plan is that I will have to fork out a one time "donation" of $10,000/seat and then pay an additional $3000+ over what I've been paying per seat per year to keep my current seats which I've had since the inception of Tide Pride in '88. I will have access to a club area but I'm telling them no thanks.

I thought Bryant-Denny was fine and that they should have just bit the bullet on past Coleman renovations and tore it down in favor for a new, modern basketball arena. It doesn't piss me off because we are a football school and while I like basketball and would love to join the elite a new arena wouldn't do the job.

So sure, I understand the upgrades and I like them. There is more happening than the stadium though I the new video board will be awesome.

Per AD Byrnes, the SRO/picnic area is for the students.

The picnic area beneath the screen is for students only I'm pretty sure

Yes it does. It's even listed in the Crimson Tide Foundation site that it's the Jumbotron & student terrace. It will be standing room only. LINK

The new club sections will be in the SE and SW corners where the jumbotrons are located now.

Another point I would add is they need to rotate east-west opponents more...Go to nine games, move Auburn to the east, whatever......as much I love the Tennessee game I would like to see a better rotation within the two divisions. I think that would help attendance as well. LSU gets UGA at home and we get Mizzou. I guess that is good from a scheduling persecutive in that Bama has an easier opponent but not good from a marketing and sales perspective. I think Bama in particular needs better home game match-ups than just the regular slate.

In all seriousness and no trolling here but ....

I honestly hate this kind of shite.

I went to the new Braves stadium last summer and totally hated it. I could not wait to leave and never go back. I hope they don't start putting in the ridiculous bars, pubs and restaurants next to it. That would completely suck the life out of it.

I hate the glass paneling on the sides, does not look like a college stadium at all, way too modern and NFL'ish

Everybody wants to do that but its extremely expensive to do right now, and lots of other projects wouldnt exist if that happened.

I dont exactly follow Alabama swimming, but considering every other facility is really nice, I have always felt bad for them. The Nat was just horrible if not embarrassing. Im glad they are able to get a new facility.

Not sure how I feel about all the glass on the outside. It looks like a space ship.
