We’ve gone from “we never wanted him” to “watch how much I can take before I gag, daddy” from Bama fans on this board.
It’s astonishing and to be frank, it makes me a little uneasy.

I believe the correct phrase you’re looking for is “Bama fans said Lane would never be the HC at Alabama due to certain events that took place while he was the OC here.”

Kiffin is a good coach. Bama fans didn’t want Kiffin because of how he acted in Tuscaloosa - culminating with him being forced out the week before a national title game because he was so immature.

No. Bama fans have consistently said they didn’t want him. I don’t know a single one who said otherwise, here or IRL. Now that doesn’t mean that in hindsight Lane couldn’t have been a better hire than KD: that’s a separate issue which we don’t known the answer to yet.
It’s just really weird how the revisionist betas like OP are so desperate for this validation from Bama fans.

It was never realistic that Alabama would hire him. Apparently there were too many bridges burned or whatever.

We’ve always appreciated Kiffin for who he is in his own ways, I liked when he was on our staff, but overwhelmingly most Bama fans did not want him as HC for pretty good reasons. He’s not a good fit for us, and I was one of those relieved that he was not on the radar when Saban retired and yall can check post history on plenty of Bama fans to verify that. 
I don’t understand why so many LSU fans seem to want us to be envious, is it just because of the Saban resentment/jealousy yall had or something? I hope Lane does great things at LSU and wherever his career takes him after as a whole, but I don’t think Bama would ever be a good fit.

I don’t think Bama will ever be envious of Kiffin at LSU, even if he establishes a dynasty.
Ole Miss, however, will be livid (just like we were with Saban’s dynasty).

I can see lsu winning one but a dynasty, nope. I think those days are over for teams. Portal and NIL changed all that. Indiana proved it also

You’re an idiot. This has been well documented about half the fans base wanted Kiffin the other half did not. Administration was never going to hire him. Too many burned bridges. Fact is Alabama cannot or will not spend 40-50 mill on a roster so Lane would probably be performing quite similar to what DeBoer is doing. . If you buy the best players this is what you’ll get. Until Alabama will spend or can spend that kind of money then what fans need to expect is 9-10 win seasons and playoff appearances with likely a semifinal exit.

Meh, I wanted him but knew we were never going to pursue him. That's the UoA for you. I don't like it but I understand they're position. He burned a big bridge and they never forgive that shite.
