You should be rooting for A&M in this one. You’d beat them by double digits. Think you’d beat FL too, but could be a close game.

Appreciate everybody’s concern but I am extremely happy he is in Tuscaloosa… sounds like some jealousy to me

He did a good job maximizing a very ill-suited roster due to turnover while integrating a whole new assistant coaching staff.

That said, Bruce isn’t exactly scaring a bunch of SEC coaches. They’re much more worried about Oats than Bruce, as evidenced by the last few years. Look at how many times Oats gets mentioned in this board vs. Bruce, that tells you all you need to know about which one is feared more in SEC country.

Two SEC titles in 5 years and a loss to Tenn. late after being up by 7 is how close he came to a 3rd title. The way players leave early now-a-days, its easy get caught shorthanded at a position, Bama has no defensive inside presence at all this year, and I think they had one injury that hurt the position a bit.

This team, with the schedule they played, should be about .500.

I think the AD was smart. If he had put all the money into the arena and lost the coach that would have been very dumb. When interest rates come down then they can build an arena.

Wow, thought they were still teaching reading comprehension on the plains. Try to follow the punctuation when reading, it will help a lot.

Don't care. He has brought excitement to Bama basketball. Bama won the SEC 2 of the last 3 years. We were down to one great player this year in Sears. He got this team to WAY more than they were capable. This isn' our year. Oats is going to do what CM or Wimp couldn't and take this team to a title. Bama basketball is putting a lot into the collective and getting great players from around the country. He currently has the top 3 players from California committed that were thought to be UCLA locks.

He’s a good coach.

The league is improving its reputation from top to bottom.

I think his system is proven statistically.

If the big boys hit the weight room, they will be really good next year.

Guys in the portal who can shoot will gravitate to the green light 3s.

Very true! Who wouldn’t want to play in that offense?

Pearl and Oats do not try to quash shooters.

They just want good shots.

The days of 4 corners are long gone.

Layups, lane shots, open threes, and free throws are the way to score efficiently.

Surely he’s won the tournament at least once since Bama’s coach arrived, right?
right

Surely he can at least win this one now that AU is the only team left that didn’t play on Thursday, right?

Surely a program and coach of your caliber can win this tournament and get out of the first round of the NCAAT for the first time since their daddy arrived in Ttown…it is, after all, their best chance in years.

Honestly might be. They’re playing good team ball and getting a 3 seed gives you a much better shot. I meant first weekend, obviously, as you guys got through the first round just last year. Should be a fun NCAAT!

Oats has done a hell of a job, the program is nationally relevant. His assistants last year all left to take head coaching jobs, and he sent players to the league off that team as high draft picks This was a major rebuild, and to do as well as they did is a credit to him.

Next years' team, with what will likely come back and what's coming in, is a transfer or so away from being very very good.
