Yeldon is built more like and runs more like Richardson and Dee Hart is the "Scat Back" who may not run over you, but if he gets into space, forget it, he's gone. Hart may be a better receiver out of the backfield and could be used some in slot.

i disagree with this. of the two, Hart is more similar to Richardson. their running styles are very simliar, except that Hart doesnt have the amazing power that richardson had. But their footwork and style is very similar. Hart tried to learn a lot from Richardson when they were at school together. Hart looks like he is Richardson's baby brother. He is a few inches shorter and about 25 pounds lighter, but they have a lot of the same moves.

Yeldon is almost 6'2 and has a long neck, where as Trent Richardson only had traps. Yeldon doesnt have anywhere near the wide base that Richardson has and not nearly as much power. But Yeldon is still a good player. He's more like McFadden than Richardson though

I thought he was on rivals. He came in at 65 overall. Could have swore he was a 6.1 but he was a 6.0.

Still the leading rusher in la history

Yeah, but he wasn't.

Bama's 5 deep star average: 4.4
LSU's 5 deep star average: 4.2

That settles it. Bama's backfield > LSU's backfield.

LSUBSJD This dude has 7 post count and started three threads about Bama today. I will bet that this guy "an LSU fan" thinks more about Bama than he does his own team. Hell he may even watch a Bama game instead of his own team.

If Lacy gets injured, what is the quality of their replacement RBs?

In short, find another straw to grasp at. We have 5 or 6 guys that can play.

2nd string - Jalston Fowler will be used as a fullback and tight end sometimes to get him more time as he's a bruising running back that scares the BG's out of his own team mates. William Vlachos, the center who's just graduated once said in an interview, "If he's supposed run through a hole you're supposed to make and there isn't one, he'll run over you and the guy that didn't let you make one, so you damn sure better make one."

Fowler has spent most of his time practicing with the TE's as an Hback. When he has practiced with the RB's he has been in 4th position

Most folks I've spoken with seem to think he will be in 4th position on RB rotation.

Currently Lacy, Yeldon, Hart...then Fowler and Blake Sims with both Fowler and Sims concentrating on positions other than RB

When you have a stud OL, you don't need a stud RB; just anyone serviceable will do as long as he takes care of the ball.

Clearly, Lacy is not in the same league (and I don't mean the NFL) with Richardson and Ingram

how is this clear? he has not been the guy yet. he will get his chance this year to show what he can do. the only thing is his career at alabama that ever gave concern was his case of fumblitis in his freshman year, but that is done with. I do know several things about Lacy. He is at least as fast as Richardson and Ingram. He is not as strong as Richardson was, but he is as strong as anybody other rb who will be playing this year. He has great size, and is very elusive, with superior moves. If the toe does not act up again he will most likely get 200+ carries and 1200+ yards.

That's not what I'm hearing at all. While he has been splitting time with TE/H-backs, he's been running 2nd behind Lacy whenever he's with the RBs.

Actually makes sense because he has more game experience (other 2 have none). What I had heard comes from folks who have seen very limited amount of practice.

a really good O line tends to make for pretty good running backs. not the other way around.

This. Glen Coffee was a so-so running back that was made into an All-SEC type back by the production of the offensive line in 2008. I remember a lot of people coming down on Ken Darby for his poor performance in 2006 - conveniently forgetting his 1,000+ yard seasons in 2004 and 2005, as well as forgetting the fact that he had a sports hernia. The reason why Darby was a bellow average back in 2006 had less to do with him and more to do with the fact that we had one of our all-time worst offensive lines blocking for him.

GTFO. By this standard, Lacy should atleast make it to NY to be a finalist. Thread bookmarked.

Many people who know what the hell they are talking about have already stated that it wouldn't surprise them at all if Lacy made it to NY.

Lacy is probably the best RB in the SEC and TJ is probably next.
