Why does this keep coming up from time to time??? It's total bull shite. I was in Auburn that day on business and it is absolutely not true. There is no one that is a bigger Bama fan than me, so if it was true I would surely say so!!!

Bear smoked those damn Chesterfields...lung busters. I quit smoking 27 yrs ago thank God.
BTW Charlie Pell of UF also smoked backed in the early days of the 1980s.

The way I heard it is it was actually some Bama fans that rolled Toomer's that day. To frame up the good folks of Auburn.
