I disagree. Least likable is Duke, because it’s Duke.

While correct... Auburn is the least likeable team, but thats because Auburn is always the least likeable team. It Aint got shite to do with Pearl or MAGA.

In a message board wasteland of hyperbole, trolling, and idiocy, this post shines as a fair and honest take that is frankly beyond reproach.

He’s an Illinois guy. Mentions it in the Kentucky part of his ranking.

Broome and Cardwell are also unlikable imo. They are real bad about taunting.

What a hack journalist. I don’t get why some liberals operate off their feelings. Such a terrible thing to do.

Never ceases to amaze me that so many sports writers loathe sports, the guys who like sports, what sports mean to people and regions etc.

My theory is that they see themselves as journalistic failures who should be writing about culture or politics but had to settle. So unsurprisingly for this class of feeble, spineless pseudo intellectuals- much of the loathing is really off the “self” variety

Yeah I can get not liking Broome. Hell, sometimes I don’t. But Cardwell?! Dude is everything great about what we all once loved about college athletics.

Cardwell? Seriously?

We will all look back on Dylan Cardwell (and a few others leaving college after this season) as one of the last true student-athletes who loved his school, college life, the program, the community, and the fans. That dude has spent five years at Auburn because he loves it. He was behind a future NBA big man and a current NPOTY finalist, and he had skill enough to play for many other programs around the country. He could have easily gone and found playing time and maybe a little bigger payday, but he didn't. He didn't do that because he loves Auburn.

While at Auburn he has been the epitome of "student-athlete". He's been a model teammate on and off the court. He's never gotten in trouble, and never caused issues on the team. He's embraced the community, the church, college life, every other sport Auburn has, and he's done it with joy and respect. In his spare time he's gone on multiple mission trips and given a portion of his own NIL money to benefit the children he worked with. He's done it all while having fun and fulfilling a commitment he made to the Auburn program. I respect him for that, and I'll damn sure miss watching him play.

He isn't the only one who is a hold out of the "student-athlete" era. Ryan Kalkbrenner from Creighton is another, and there are others, but those are now few and far between. We won't see many more like them with how things are now. I think we will all miss them.

Cardwell wouldn't bring a gun to a murder scene for his teammates.

Jeez. After reading that, I don't care which team wins it all as long as it's an SEC team. Screw that guy.
