It was brought up in a basketball thread earlier. I can't tell where Auburn fans on this board truly stand regarding the game. I have seen playful banter back and forth about the rain being a factor (#stiffdew...etc.). It makes me wonder if Auburn fans are tongue in cheek about all of it or if they really think the game was a fluke.

Surely they are not ignorant enough to think it was a fluke. Auburn was a good, not great team in 2013. They were two miraculous plays from being a 4 loss team and had 6 games that they won by one possession or less. LSU was also a good, far from great team. They traditionally do very well vs spread teams. I will give you that Auburn ended the year as the better team......but I would take LSU straight up if they played the game again on a wet or dry field.

Anyway, I will quit my ramble. I am truly curious though Auburn fans. I will hang up and listen.

.....and NB4 aubsessed.

Stuff dew definitely hurt us plus the defensive scheme. Lsu was definitely a better team then. I felt like Auburn improved with each game and LSU kinda declined after the UGA game, besides the TAMU game of course. But y'all had Johnny's number both years.

To summarize, if they had played in November, I am confident Auburn would have won. But they didn't, so LSU was the better team that day.

Stiff dew + Auburn hadn't established their identity yet = you melt.

Can't disagree with any of that.

Walked out of the stadium knowing we could play with any team in the country.

We lost 35-21, 1 of two games Auburn lost during the season of football.

At that point in time, Auburn had not yet figured out they were a good football team. That changed quickly after the LSU game.

Rain and muffed punts won the game for LSU...sorry for breaking your heart.

Auburn had yet to discover they were a good team. Auburn's coaches had yet to figure out how special of a running game this team could have. If this game was played in November Auburn would have run the ball more often.

Also, LSU is a good team and very difficult to beat especially in Tiger Stadium at night.

Why would that break my heart? We won.

I hope you are kidding with your post. LSU had more rushing yards, more passing yards, and of course more points. Sounds like the right team won.

Yall beat us straight up.

It happens, but our guys seemingly never gave up and it was a sign of good qualities about our team that took us on to have a special season.

And LSU was how many plays away from being a two lose team in 2007 ? Oh, nevermind.
