No, this is a thread discussing perceptions.

Such a huge difference

Auburn won. That's all that matters.

not when you are talking perception. i didn't perceive that as a good win, or a win by a great team.

At the time Georgia played Auburn, that was one of the healthiest points they had all season.

thats just not true. But they did get Gurley back. they were still missing several WRs and their #2 back.

Well, I had to correct you.

Any win is a good win. LSU would have traded their loss for a miracle win in a heartbeat. Try to tell me that I'm wrong.

They had gotten a lot of players back for the Auburn game. They were fairly healthy, compared to the rest of the season.

I think talent was it was pretty close between Bama, LSU, and Auburn for most talent in the west. LSU didn't have consistency and that is why we are where we are at the end of the day.

And obviously you can't deny you were the best team in actuality in the west and the SEC.

i just think at home 2013 LSU beats 2013 Auburn 60% of the time

Auburn was a good team last year but definitely the worst SEC team in the title game during the BCS era. LSU was superior and Florida State played better football and had more talent.

In November time frame? You dumb. Auburn wouldn't of started the game throwing everywhere and would of pounded it down LSU's throat until they choked to death.

We would could have scored 50 on them if we wanted to.

It is such a joke excuse to say your coaches had no idea their own teams strengths.

Excuse? No, it's a fact. Marshall hadn't perfected the read yet and was still learning the offense. Ray Charles could see that our offense was miles better at the end of the season as opposed to when we played LSU. Either way, LSU was the better team the day we played.

I don't think it was a fluke because at the time the game was played LSU was a better team.

AU was still finiding its legs after the disaster that was 2012 and weren't sure they could compete on that stage.

It was our quarterbacks first road game after being in the offense for about a month and a half at that point.

We had a lot of young guys playing up front who had never faced that level of opposition and were still learning and growing.

The 2nd half of that game, even if LSU did let up, showed that AU was not going to be the same type of team they were in 2012 where they just rolled over for everyone and the team gained a lot of momentum from it.

The win at College Station a couple of weeks later showed the team they were good enough to compete against the best and they never really looked back.

Marshall grew into the offense and the young guys up front got better and better and by the end of the year they were as good as anyone in the country.

So while I don't think 35-21 was a fluke I think if AU and LSU played in late November AU probably wins by a similar scoreline.

ETA: I know it's become a joke now but the rain excuse was stupid. Before the game a lot of AU fans were acting like it was a good thing for AU then it became a convenient but lame excuse afterward. Rain had nothing to do with it.

You just gave up on passing at the end of the season. I don't think you were running any better just more. And your coach should have known that.

I think we got our arse beat by a better team in September. We had no answer for Jeremy Hill. Rain was a factor on the first quarter fumble by Cap and it took Auburn awhile to regain our poise in that teams first game on the road.

Kudos to LSU for the win. In September you were the better team. Credit auburn's team and staff for learning from the loss and getting better every game thereafter

I think deep down most sane Auburn fans know they massively overachieved in 2013.

The ones that don't are gonna be super disappointed and consider it regression when they go like 9-3 next year, even though it's not really a regression at all.

Just so everyone knows, what did you predict Auburn to do before the season? Be honest, I know the answer.
