I had no idea the SEC would allow that kind of home cooking. Bama beats UcheaT by 2 TDs on a neutral field and 3 TDs at home.

Alabama complaining about bad calls. What irony!

Folks say this but I’m pretty sure he want Kirby when Gus was hired, and Steele when Harsin was hired. I can’t see any booster that was on board with Harsin.

A lot of coaches likely want nothing to do with Auburn as long as the dysfunction exists.
Cohen and the new coach have their work cut out for them.
It's a depleted roster and this isn't a one year fix.
Even in the portal, the best players are looking at better options.

The one thing Saban does not get enough credit for is that he came into both LSU and Bama that at those times had similar dysfunction within the admin and boosters and was strong enough to tell them all to get the f out of the way and let me run this thing.

That hire was all Greene imho. He didn’t understand the SEC. He thought a great basketball hire would buy him longterm goodwill for his football hires. Lol

The portal can fix any roster with the right NIL deal. Not every portal transfer has to be a bonafide NFL 1st rounder to be an effective transfer in the right position. Just look at what USC did.

Auburn needs to get this football hire right, and could have 3 excellent coaches across the big 3 sports

Bruce Pearl- basketball
Butch Thompson- baseball
______ - football

Not with that abysmal defense Bamais putting on the field. Sorry, Bama is just a mediocre team at best this year. You are fortunate to not have 3 losses already.

You could barely beat shitty Aggie at home.

Let’s not forget that very close game with a shitty Texas team too.

There must be so kind of limit for number of head coaches on the payroll.

No booster or fans were on board. He got hired after a hot tub session with the AD.

I had to google the guy as most did.

It’s hard to beat a team 16 years in a row.
Vols win by 3 on the last play of the game.
One win doesn’t mean you will win the next.

Would think that A&M situation is an object lesson that money isn't always the answer.

As a Bama fan I would love to see the barn get another head scratching hire but it’s not going to happen. Yellawood footed the bill to get rid of Greene and Harsin and he will pay/raise the money to get a big name. He’s a 76 year old billionaire who loves football. He wants to see them competitive again before he dies.

I agree. With that said, the last 4 coaches that Auburn's boosters went after all had one thing in common:

They coached at Auburn previously.

- Bobby Petrino (2003)
- Gene Chizik (2008)
- Gus Malzahn (2012)
- Kevin Steele (2020)

This is going to be a booster hire. They're going to get their way this time. It wouldn't shock me to see them hire a coach that has been here at Auburn before. (Jeff Grimes)

TAMU just got unlucky. Jimbo is a great coach when he cares. He got paid and stopped caring. These coaches are all masters at motivation which makes them great at showing confidence in an interview. Jimbo said all the right things and I bet he intended to do them but he got fat and happy with that contract. Saban’s contract has no buyout for either side per his request. That’s real confidence.

He would be a great hire. Way better than a big splash but no substance hire like Deion.
