What’s Auburn’s selling point right now?
They don't have one. Zero. All they offer is access for a coach to get into an SEC job. They get to be little brother to Bama/Saban, rebuild and find a QB, and deal with an unrealistic fanbase. Basically the same situation as Tennessee although you don't get to play the rest of the east teams besides GA. If you don't turn the program around and beat Saban in the first 2-3 yrs then your arse is out to pasture as well.
Aub situation is really fkd and I don't think anyone takes that job unless they are jumping up from a lower tier or have they have personal ties to the Univ.

Unrealistic is expecting our team to recruit in the top-15 (as we have historically)?
Unrealistic to expect us to be ranked in the top-20 as we have historically?
Harsin is going to be fired because he's nowhere close to those "unrealistic" goals.

Our last two coaches beat Saban in the 1st or 2nd year. Our current coach took Saban to OT in his first season.
Maybe it's more about the direction of the program, recruiting woes, or losing consecutive games to programs like SCar or nearly losing to programs like Missouri?

Do a little homework. Look at the facilities being built, facilities already built, find out how much NIL money has been raised the last couple months, look in our trophy case for evidence of other coaches who had success, look at our record vs teams like Ole Miss.
Now, do yours.
See why he would leave if both sides decide it's a fit? Tubs made the leap...history repeats itself. Lane doesn't want to be at Ole Miss when Auburn has a coach who's head isn't in their arse. Lane doesn't want to be at Ole Miss when A&M gets their offense hitting on all cylinders. Lane doesn't want to be at Ole Miss when Texas and Oklahoma come. The deck will reshuffle, and when it does Ole Miss will drop back to the bottom, again, history does repeat itself

Why not. Better than both of those teams. What gives you reason to think we won't still be in a better spot when they enter the SEC?

He wasn't getting paid. Kiffin is. History isn't the same as present day. Things change. Notre Dame, Nebraska, Miami, FSU, etc... all used to be tops in CFB. They are no longer.

That is you're desperate hope because Aub isn't sitting in it's accustomed spot. You'll have to claw you're way up like everyone else.

Why leave Ole Miss for Auburn? It's a lateral move.

Because he learned from Brian Kelly not to take steps back?

Maybe at this exact moment in time. But you are a fool if you think our two programs are comparable.

Don’t try to reason with these children on the rant. Most of these kids just got their drivers license a few years back .

Lots of envy over Lane. Lane actually slammed Auburn for the idea of firing a coach after 2 years.
Auburn will most likely go after Rhule with Freeze being their 2nd choice.

I thought this board was all about Lane being a terrible coach.

You do realize Nick wanted him as his OC after Hugh was released from Ole Miss? SEC office would not allow it.

Honey if you think that means anything, well bless your heart
