Because it's not the mid 2000's anymore. You aren't going to realistically line up and beat those teams. You need backyard bullshite with balls bouncing off helmets and weird crazy shite that causes the refs to give you free kicks.

It is funny watching you revert to absurd shite like this when you get pressed. It is so ridiculously sophomoric.

Say what you want, but the simple fact of the matter is that the top tier talent is much more consolidated among a few teams today than it was 10-15 years ago.

That's the reality of college football today no matter if you want to accept it or not.

And I'm not seeing huge national appeal coming from Auburn football right now in the NIL department to make up the difference. In fact, it's about to make all that shite even worse.

The only equalizer left today are injuries, and the more depth and talent gets stacked, the less that even matters.

bullshite. Don't start that stupid shite. Every fricking poster in this thread has been here for the good and the bad.

I hate this fricking "oh where did all the _____ fans come from all of a sudden." It's so 2000-late.

You've only been here a few years yourself.

Oh, is that so

Or did I join after the big Akron win like all the other Auburn fans in this thread?

I hadn't considered that, but now that you've suggested it...

Oh really? Thanks for the update.

Sure we can. We lined up and kicked the shite out of LSU last year. We lined up and kicked the shite out of UGA and Alabama in 2017 with soft arse Malzahn players.

If he was bringing in top recruiting classes, well that would be noteworthy

He's 8 months on the job. How the frick do you know what kind of classes he will bring in?

quote:

He really didn't do all that well at Boise St.

Oh, this bullshite....AGAIN?

quote:

but really he was a step down for them and overall disappointing.

Oh, yet another Boise State expert

quote:

At any rate, I think a large part will come down to NIL and Auburn is likely to get left behind a bit.

And why is that? Bo Nix signed one of the very first NIL deals at 12:01AM. Bigsby is already doing well. Why would we fall behind anybody in NIL?

More misdirection and the type of things that Malzahn was known for really.

I wouldn't say expert, but I'm pretty familiar with them and their fans. As I pointed out in another thread, he is their worst coach over the past 20 years.

That is what is commonly known as the “losing the argument” maneuver.

Harsin is probably going to be able to develop better than Malzahn did. Can Harsin recruit to the level we need to to be able to compete?

If only he had been coaching somewhere the last 7 years or so and we could judge him by that too…

Harsin may or may not have as many lows as Malzahn, but I would bet the farm he doesn’t have as many highs.

He was the worst coach they'd had in 20 years.

He was also in a different conf. than the previous coaches. Did your "research" tell you that?

I guess the question though, is do you think Harsin will still win those big games?
We are going to find out this year

quote:

OR better yet, what does Harsin need to do to remain at Auburn? 9 win seasons? An occasional national championship? Reach LSU-level success? Reach Alabama-level success?
These are must haves in my book;
1.recruit and develop talent
2.win against our rivals
3.compete for and win SEC championships.

Beat teams you should and be competitive in games you shouldnt.

Beat 1 of UGA,LSU or Bama on the road at least once.

Better bank on LSU...or Bama, because most of the kids now were in diapers the last time Auburn beat UGA in Athens. Don't forget that and they can't remember it.
