My understanding of gymnastics is that the score matters, not win-loss records, to qualify for the NCAAs.

Yes it is all about the scores. But it is based on an average of your stores in the past few meets is my understanding. They just dont take the highest. AU should be in the tournament but I doubt they would host. Bama is going to host unless they have a come apart.

While also putting Alabama’s score - which was more than - as the footnote of the post? I get it but it’s a moral victory as much as a score to be proud of

It's not simply a score to be proud of, it's the only important thing. Yes, bama is a better team but the score matters, the win/loss doesn't except for bragging rights. Congrats.

Winning matters. I get it, high scores advance. But losing to your rival and clinging to scoring well is a losers approach. Just making the post season shouldn’t be the goal, but it is Auburn we’re talking about so congrats on breaking 197.
