I know that as an Arkansas fan you would be happy with 8-5 most seasons but we aren't

You literally gave your coach an extension one year after a 8-5 season (2016) and near the end of a 9-4 season (2017).

Lets take a look at the timeline:
2014: 8-5
2015: 7-6
2016: 8-5
2017: 10-4 (Extension for beating Alabama and Georgia)

After three horrible seasons, he manages to beat two really, really good teams so you give him an extension, then he reverts to his norm?

You act like 8-5 is unacceptable...but you gave him an extension after 3 straight years of that. And most Auburn fans celebrated it.

To top it off, you gave him that extension so the team you are criticizing (Arkansas) couldn't hire him!

This is correct and just an example of Auburn making snap decisions. It has happened before, it wil happen again.

We are all guilty of it, Lanier. But, Auburn usually manages to pull out of it. I hope you get a good coach. Not a great coach, mind you....just a good one!
I wasn't trying to troll Auburn, fwiw. I just found it odd that somebody was making fun of Arkansas.

Have you watched our offense?

Simple question?

hey played LSU better than anyone, played Florida tough in the Swamp, and the UGA game could have easily been tied up if that catch (which I thought was a catch) wasn't overturned.

Their Oregon win is looking better and better each week.

Imagine the scores of those games if our defense wasn't so good.

Nobody is wanting to get rid of Steele.

So they get a participation trophy for losing? What is this SJW type mentality? They'll have 4 losses, they don't deserve it.

Nowhere did I say that Auburn "didn't deserve" to lose.

If you don't see the difference in playing the #1 team in the nation competitively on the road with a true fresh QB and just another L then you're really fricking dumb.

After that, he lost his mind and started trying to go more like a pro-style offense, since then the offense has fallen off the map
wrong. His unwillingness to develop a modern passing game has been his downfall. Defenses have adjusted to his offense, which is extremely predictable unless the QB is a consistent and effective run threat.

Gus needs to go because he has refused to make the necessary offensive adjustments for 4 seasons straight. Tough schedule or CFBP rankings be damned.

Also, the only reason you made this thread was your fear that Arkansas will hire Gus if AU runs him off.

LSU got rid of Les Miles
UGA got rid of Richt
Bama ran off Bill Curry

Coaches with winning records lose their jobs in this conference all the time. They all leave rich, but it’s a brutal conference to be in.

15th ranked and you want to get rid of your coach

Being ranked 15 might be something to celebrate at Arkansas, but it’s not at Auburn.

hope you end up destroying your program.

Auburn has won big with some mediocre coaches. Bowden, Tubs, and Chizik all had undefeated seasons. Gus went to the NC game. I think Auburn will be just fine.

Bottom line is when you HC is hurting and not helping your team, it’s time to move on. In Gus’ case, he should’ve been fired 5 years ago. You could put a chimpanzee on the sideline and win 8 games at Auburn, which is what Gus normally does. There’s plenty of coaches who will be an upgrade.

It shouldn't be though. You're Auburn. It would make sense if you were, say, Alabama, Georgia, or LSU.

In truth the reason Auburn has the hardware it posses is because Auburn's PTB blindly refuse to accept our position and at times act impetuously in pursuit of being a more consistent winner. It backfires at times, but more times than not it has worked for Auburn.

One could say that Hog fans are dumb for believing a coach who went 14-22 at SMU could win in the SEC.

2012 was a horrible season. Those 3 are mediocre and clearly not what we wanted, but I certainly wouldn't call them horrible.
