I saw a quote earlier today that sums up Auburn under Gus perfectly today: " Gus has Auburn firmly in a spot just above mediocrity but well below elite" or something of that nature and it is 100% true and frustrating as hell. He has brought in more talent than any coach in AU history and squandered every bit of it.

Auburn hit the BCS lottery, got PAC-12 lightweight Oregon, and now they believe that rented mules can make them a regular champion. They don't understand that mercenaries don't make good soldiers and coverups don't make good discipline.

That Oregon team was loaded though. Heck the game was tied with like 3 minutes left. One of the better championship games I’ve seen actually. But Chizik was a one trick pony after Cam bolted to the league

And yet that terrible Auburn team was one play from tying it up against UGA and going on to win, and one play from beating LSU.
How could those game be so close?
The offense that every one is shitting on out gained UGA's power house offense.
Lets not pretend that Auburn has been that far off. Yes, we did not pull those games out but its not like they have been beaten to death. UGA was bone lucky to escape JHS with that win. If our freshman QB hits a simple swing pass, you likely lose and are out of the possibility of playoffs.
