Purifoy's ankle injury drastically altered his game due to limited mobility/explosiveness. This caused him to spot up shoot/not move effectively on defense

Well, what I saw with Purifoy was an inability to finish at the rim and often looked uncoordinated in his forced attempts. This could be attributed to ankle issues, but he didn't show much ability off the dribble last year.

So Auburn is down to 3 front court players now, 4 counting the swing guy from JUCO.

not surprising. Those were the two who were the most likely candidates.

Dunbar maybe can play the 4 in a small lineup.

Right?

I fine with cheating. But cheating and still losing is NOT ok

Not even that. We are cheating and not even giving ourselves a competitive edge. Our cheating is helping players leave AU, not get to it

Wait, a guy who is 6'3 225 is a power forward?

Yep. That's his position. Everyone swears he plays much bigger than he is. We will see.

Eta: he did well in the big South and on our Italy summer tour playing the 4.

Yeah, he's apparently built pretty solid and plays much bigger.

A little different playing against bigs in the SEC. Whole lot of talented/skilled 6'8, 6'9, 6'10 types.

It is, but 4s are becoming swingmen in today's game. Not a lot of teams play with 2 bigs that play like bigs on the court together.

We will have to wait and see how he transitions to the conference.

Our stretch 4 this season is still 6'10

Yeah, but he will play like he is 6'5". Height and length matter, but they aren't insurmountable with a 6'10" guy hanging out in the corner waiting for a kick out.

Hopefully, Wiley is back in the fold by the time we start conference games anyway.

Even Pre Injury he still had a lot of room for improvement off the dribble/finishing, that's completely fair. The idea that Purifoy was a spot up shooter/major liability on D is just completely false though.
