Officials from Georgia Tech and Auburn have had discussions about renewing their longtime series. It would be the first meeting between the longtime rivals since 2005.

The conversations are in their early stages, Tech senior associate athletic director Ryan Bamford said. There is interest in a home-and-home series, but the two sides face a challenge in finding a suitable arrangement. For the sake of balance, neither team wants to play a road game in a possible series and a road game at Georgia in the same year, but the schools’ series with Georgia are on the same cycles. Both Tech and Auburn play in Athens in even-numbered years and at their home stadiums in odd years.

Ooh ooh, I have an idea! How bout make Auburn play in Athens again in 2015 like how we had to play in auburn in 12 and 13?

That way you can schedule your home and home, our wrong gets righted, and aubs won't complain every other year about playing uga/bama on the road. Win for everybody!

I'm good with this as long as Reggie Ball has no eligibility left.

I am all for it. Absolutely worth doing to get those games staggered again.

Not really a "dome", per se, but, yes - would be awesome to play in the new Falcons facility (the talk is that Tech v. Tennessee will be the first game in that stadium in 2017).

How about playing a non ACC team? Some different big 12 or pac12 matchups are more appealing to me.

Most AU fans on here have advocated to playing two games in Athens to get the series' staggered again. Not sure what WG_D was implying.

Or a different ACC team like Miami or Boston College. But then again, our AD is a dumbass. Do what do you expect?

Playing Boston College sounds miserable but at this point I'd take it

We get mostly ACC and big 10 match ups for bowl games. I just think we could try to do something different every few years by going West and then hosting a pac12 team. ASU, UCLA, USC, OU, UT, TCU, OSU, the other OSU, Oregon.

We've had KSU and WSU which were both more interesting than another Clemson or GT game.
