This. We love each other but live in such different worlds that it is tough to connect on very much.
re: Bama probably makes top 4 even if it has a loss remainder of season...

The Bama nightmare is losing to Auburn and having TAMU win out and go to the SEC Championship. I think the Committee would have a tough time sending Bama over Auburn when Auburn's losses were in September to two of the teams in the playoff and Auburn just beat Bama. It's possible that Auburn wouldn't even go in that scenario, but very tough for Bama to make it.

I have never been so blown away by a book that is so quiet.

We really haven't played with very much pace since 2013....

I'm for giving Gus another run if he can find a QB, mainly one that can run. I don't trust him with a pocket passer at all.
I agree with the second sentence. I just don't think the first sentence is the ultimate answer for it. Having a running QB doesn't address the deficiency; it just papers over it. We will still have the same issues as long as we don't have a passing game outside of screens and bombs (see our red zone struggles against good teams with Marshall).
Gus has got to incorporate an intermediate passing game into the offense and has to bring in someone that can actually develop a QB. There is no schematic or philosophical reason for us not to be doing those things. We just don't because we aren't good at it. But we will never have consistent success if we are banking on running for 300+ a game and just chucking it deep.

I am still very much on the Gus bus, and I hope he is our coach for a long time. But to be that, he is going to have to learn from this disaster of a season. He has to be willing to bring in someone that can develop our QBs and the passing game. He and Lashlee can't/don't do it.
There is no schematic reason why we can't or shouldn't have an intermediate passing game. It can't just be screen or chuck it deep. And it damn sure can't be horrible footwork, mechanics, inability to go through progressions, etc. That stuff has got to get fixed. If Gus does that, he will be very successful at Auburn for a long time. If he doesn't, he'll get fired.

The key word in there is "relatively". Like I said, it will be tough for a couple/three years regardless. But Clark would/will? be in a better position to get them somewhere in three or four years than just about anyone else.

Who's gonna coach, and once you've lost an entire recruiting class you're behind the eight ball in roster number which could take years to build back up.
It'll definitely take a couple of years due to the loss of players, but if Bill Clark comes back as coach (I believe he was planning to sit out this season), that goes a long way towards getting things back going relatively quickly.

There were a few locals and a UAB fan or two that participated in reasonable discussion here, but 99% of the posts on this topic have been straight up mud-slinging at UA from rival fans that couldn't give a shite about UAB.
Because 99% of the UA fans knee-jerkingly supported the decision and wanted to make it a discussion about UA.

A MS attorney just advised my friend that even he has a 75% interest in the land, he cannot force a sale. At worst, it would go to court to be partitioned.
Don't know about MS, but in many states "partition" includes, and can often mean, "partition by sale." i.e. the court "partitions" the property by ordering it sold and splitting up the proceeds. My guess is that it just depends on the situation. Also may be that MS really doesn't do that.

Pretty simple. Offenses are better than they used to be. Total defensive stats will be worse. The metric to watch is where your stats rank.

No it's not.
Of the 150 million or so males in the US, around 7,900 develop an HPV attributable cancer each year. That is .005% -- 1/2 of 1% of 1%. I'll worry about sunburns, drinking, eating right, exercise, and drug & tobacco use. I'll roll the dice on munching box.

Just about the only way schools get in trouble is when folks turn. If folks don't turn, NCAA usually can't do a damn thing. Not just at Bama. Everywhere.
