didn't the rams and dolphins get in a bidding war for fisher last season?... he's making like 7 million to coach the rams.... he'd be taking a HUGE pay cut to come to college.

not happening.

Not sure, but his name was a rumor for coordinator last year as well. Just because your kid is at auburn doesn't mean you are going to coach there. We have had several kids of nfl coaches, dick jouron, wade Phillips, fisher, etc... They are nfl coaches, that's their career, the nfl, not college.

You won't see it on any message board. Auburn is aiming HIGH and has a good bite, the name will be kept quiet to not mess up the talks.

I've heard the Jimbo Fisher rumor- but that just seems like there is no way for that to happen.

Jimbo could be a target but he's not AU's top target, he's about 3-4 down the list.

I have a feeling it's Jimbo Fisher. There's so much smoke surrounding him.

That's just smoke from all the dope the people who think AU is hiring Jimbo are smoking.

Good point. It just doesn't make sense to use something like having a son at a certain university as a reason for a coach to go there. His kid is going to be there 5 years at the most and then what happens... Now, in high school a coach might hang on a few extra years instead of retiring because he has kids or grand kids coming through. But, the college and nfl games are a lot bigger than that.

Fisher REALLY loves AU and likes a lot of the people around the program. Don't be shocked if we don't take a look at him.

Concern is he has ZERO college experience. He's smart and knows what it takes to win though.

3 candidates so far REALISTICALLY (that means they have called & said candidate has interest, 2 will be or have already been interviewed)

1. Petrino (& yes his bro will come with him)

2. Charlie Strong - sadly this might just be one-sided (from Strong)

3. Bob Stoops - & YES he is interested enough to interview, he is at the point now where he HATES Norman & OU, who coincidentally has a lot of things in common with Bama, AU's biggest rival, so if there's a shot & the school has a unique recruiting advantage in Fla & Ga (& he will recruit THE HELL out of Fla), it could be the perfect storm setting itself up for Stoops to come to AU

Yes Fisher loves AU, but he ain't leaving the NFL, he has a niche there & AU can't get in a bidding war with the Rams organization (who will go all out to keep him, he came in & had the best FA & draft the organization has seen since the greatest show on turf days, the team is having hiccups right now, but it's only his 1st year)
