I've never heard anyone claim that membership in a military student organization is the same as active duty service.

Every officer in the armed forces did some version of this at one point or another. And if a kid doesn't choose to take a commission when he graduates, then it's still some pretty great management training for whatever he wants to do. I wasn't ever interested in becoming a career military officer, but I have a bachelors degree because someone made me PT until I puked if I didn't study every damn day when I was 18.

Me too. Someone has to take themselves real fricking seriously to run out onto a field and attack a cheerleader with a sword.

Dirty pool, but well done. To me this is the single most embarrassing event that has happened in the 100+ years of the school. But we have to own it, so kudos to you, you sorry bastard for reminding us. Fortunately that nimrod was booted out of the Corps (and as I recall school as well, but don't quote me on that). There is no punishment severe enough for that idiot.

That's respectable.

It's not a mindset. The army is the army, rotc is rotc, and service academies are what they are.

You know I have no ill-will toward you, FF. That one was just teed up perfectly and I happened to have the 1-wood ready.

It was an interesting event, though, and a testament to how far [some] Aggies would go to protect their traditions back in the early 1980s.

This, I believe, was from the San Antonio paper.

Ok. So when people say that ROTC is playing army, dont get butthurt. It is playing army.

Sure. I got it. Officers play army while they go to college.

Be proud of your accomplishments. Nobody is trying to take that from you.

They never show the entire clip, of course. Guy was probably more restrained than I would have been. Still in the wrong, but the SMU twats really escalated things.

Believe me, if I have a beef with anyone it is the uniformed moron in the video. You're just having some fun, and we deserve it.

Yes. We were also big fans of giving the girls from Austin a very good time every Thanksgiving.
