New Advocate article just released, and added to OP:

LINK

quote:

"All of us at LSU share the obligation to protect the integrity of this institution, as such we have suspended Head Coach Will Wade indefinitely until such time as we can ensure full compliance with the NCAA, as well as institutional policies and standards. Assistant coach Tony Benford will assume the duties of interim head coach.”

Yahoo Sports and ESPN released reports Thursday that Wade was heard on an FBI wiretap discussing paying for a recruit.

Asked by The Advocate for a comment Friday afternoon, Wade said via text, "No. Sorry."

We never suspended Cam, it was rumored every week as his eligibility. AU handled it masterfully, LSU has handled this very poorly. You go all in and let the chips fall where they may.

Does this mean Ole Miss gets in the NCAA tourney now?

I believe he was suspended as a way to force the NCAA's hand, and he was essentially immediately reinstated.

It's over...it was a good one season run. At least Ole Miss got 3 years of fun before the hammer.

There’s another SEC spot since LSU will hopefully do the honorable thing and self-impose a postseason ban, so maybe

Might not happen because O will never compete for anything.

I will be cheering for Will Wade to clear his good name about as hard as the coonasses hoped Freeze would come out like a rose

Well FTR I am on record saying I thought it was BS, that Leo Lewis's testimony would never hold up in a fair court, about the Rebel rags gifts, the escort was likely for a certain QB that jumped ship and received zero punishment, and that to send the NCAA a big frick you by hiring Freeze back.

Cam was suspended when they agreed there was a violation that occurred in his recruitment at MSU

Lmao this happened even quicker than I expected. I was just trolling yesterday but there seems to really be something to this. Will Wade is a dumbass and LSU fans should expect better than a head coach that blatantly cheats on his own. Doesn’t he know he’s supposed to have assistants for that? Dumb, dumb, and dumb.

LSU did what Ole Miss refused to do. They distanced themselves from a piece of shite coach. This is how you handle a scandal. You refuse to let the motives of a rouge coach tarnish the name of your university. OM, on the other hand, got in bed with Freeze and fricked all night long. Your administration is a joke. You have a booster organization running your entire university and you haven’t won shite

This type of stuff is why the FBI headquarters needs to be moved out of DC.

Still have roughly ~100 more all time wins than State even after vacating Freeze, with a win in a bigger bowl than State has played in this millennium, but I guess a State fan would know more about not winning shite than I ever could

Everything I’ve seen suggests LSU plans on giving the NCAA “exemplary compliance,” which should more or less shutter their basketball program if true.

How do you look at Ole Miss and Mizzou and then look at UNC and Auburn and decide that working with the NCAA is the best route to take?
