As much as I would love to laugh at LSU, they are never getting expelled

This filing has 1 simple explanation: the SEC wants to prevent Kiffin from adding Wright/Harris midseason.
Kiffin said he will follow the ruling, but he has never publicly said he agrees that the rules mean he can’t add players later. He left 2 roster spots open, and it wouldn’t surprise me if the SEC expects him to add the players during Ole Miss game week.
As a result, SEC continues the lawsuit until they have a guarantee the players are out for the the year. The meeting on 9/10 is just a way to prove the dispute is ripe for legal adjudication so LSU can’t just kick the can down the road. If the SEC wins in court, I expect LSU to put out a statement that the players aren’t going to be added at any point or that the players have unenrolled from the University, and the matter goes away like Soresby

If that’s the case Kiffin and LSU have baited the SEC into actually filing lawsuits without ever breaking a rule, and yall think that makes the SEC look good here?

Sec is not trying to “look good” but rather to protect itself and member schools from Kiffen/LSU’s shenanigans. Kiffen/LSU will buckle.

Yep the SEC looks even dumber this week than last. So we’re going to prevent you from breaking a rule that you haven’t broke yet, but we’re going to allow other schools to keep breaking rules? Give me a break lol

I don’t agree.
The SEC wouldn’t be going to court to obtain legal authority for something they already have the power to do (expel a member school)
Sankey has the votes and the court ruling makes sure LSU can’t file to block the expulsion in a Louisiana court.

I think looking bad is the whole reason for the suit to begin with? Are you really of the opinion that LSU and Kiffin come out of this looking good?

Yes.
They haven’t broken any rules. Are we going to start punishing programs for getting too good even if they operate inside the lines now?

ESPN has contractual rights to LSU (because they are in the SEC). If SEC votes LSU out of SEC, ESPN will have something to say overall potential revenue loss.
LSU would then be an independent and would have TV contracts lined up (similar to Notre Dame) etc.,
This really isn't as bad as I thought it would be for LSU.
If I'm LSU, I become an independent and lock up the biggest TV contract in history and schedule cupcakes like ND and walk to the playoff every year.
