I was a member there when the Nutt idiocy broke out. They were low rating Danny Nutt for his brain bleed and Houston as well. I made a comment and asked how they would feel if that was their brother. I got raked over the coals and received an email saying I was getting a warning for Nutt hugging and to quit or I would be banned. I never looked at that shithole again….the poli board reminds me of that, I’ve been suspended there as well. Echo chamber. I don’t go there.

But I did find out about this site and SecTalk there because they hated these sites because those sites thought/knew they were idiots.

Screw them.

But Muschamp said he would play LB at Florida.

Kiffin didn't know what to do with him for 2 years. Due to injury, he was forced to just let him run. And run he did.

I think we wanted Philip Rivers as a TE.

Saban tried to talk Julio Jones into playing safety,

This might be true, but he was never pushed.

To be clear, Julio was seen as a cant miss, 5* future NFL WR from at least his junior year on and was back and forth with AJ Green as the top WR in that class.

No team was going to lose out on that to try to force him to play another position, especially a school going through a rebuild.

It’s no different than a high school baseball player with a huge arm and who hits for power deciding whether to focus on pitching or being a positional player.

Saban was just explaining how he also had an NFL ceiling defensively as well, but was never going to force him to go that way.

For real?

I'm not necessarily calling BS but I've never heard that.
Julio was Saban's first signature recruit at Alabama because he was rated as the best WR prospect to come along in years. I wouldn't make much sense to make him change positions.

Ol' yellatooth Mack Brown while at Texass recruited Johnny Football as a safety.
Happily, he said "no" and instead, ended up winning the Heisman as a QB-- first redshirt freshman to win it, the Davey O'Brien and the Manning awards. In the next season, he came in 5th in Heisman voting.

This. Will Muschamp was a defensive guy. Not hard to understand why he would want a freak athlete at LB.

Mark Richt wanted Cam Newton as a TE, IIRC.

Nick Saban originally wanted TJ Yeldon as a safety.

Karlos Dansby was a HS WR. I'm sure people recruited him as such, while Auburn moved him to LB.

If it wasn't for Dave Cutcliffe having more sway with Fulmer than Jon Chavis (and Tennessee being thin at TE due to injuries when he was a Freshman), Jason Witten would have been a Defensive End.

Saban was recruiting Travis Etienne to be a safety. Probably could’ve pulled it off his first defensive snap in high school he returned an int for 104 yards.

Didn't Mallett transfer to yall from Michigan to play qb? If I remember correctly Mallet (RIP) wasn't very fleet footed. He had alot of height and a strong arm.

Yes he did. Reason he went to Michigan you ask? B/c Hooty Dale put him at TE during a football camp. He came back when Petrino became coach. Facts
