I think Stephen A. Smith is about as arrogant and egotistical as they come. I've heard others defend him as a matter of taste. I've never heard him speak on any subject he didn't think he invented. Others define it as confidence. I define it as buffoonery. In the meantime, ESPN is rewarding his every syllable to the tune of 10s of millions/year.

I made it through the first page of this thread.
Individual universities aside, the SEC lends itself to arrogant fanbases. If we're talking about football, most schools in the SEC have for years lived vicariously through the Alabama program. In the past decade, Bama unwillingly passed the torch to Georgia, and the arrogance of SEC fans continued to thrive, the name on the front of the jersey notwithstanding.
Texans are, in general, prone to arrogance, but the whorns have never enjoyed sufficient success in football to be crowned as one of the SEC's most arrogant football fanbases. The arrogant fans of UT are best known for kidding themselves regarding their perceived superiority of the football program.
I don't know much about Ole Miss fans. Whenever I think of Ole Miss, for some reason I envision Col. Sanders, and often have thoughts of Huck and Jim floating down the Mississippi River on a raft. And before anyone accuses me of belittling Ole Miss or the Old South in general, I'm a country boy who fully identifies with the culture of the South. I love KFC and I believe The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is one of the greatest pieces of American literature in the history of this nation.
