Weird, I always assumed that weed made you drive slower.

Not sure if you understand what prevent means. If there were no laws, what would prevent people from murdering?

They don't prevent SOME people from breaking rules. Most others are pretty compliant knowing what the consequences would be.

No one over 30 is happy to see a 16 year old arrested for something like this. I don't see how this helps anyone.

I am way over 30 and I agree with you. No matter what happens to this kid, it wont bring Rod and his wife back

But we MUST be responsible for our mistakes. We must pay for them. Its a cruel thing and I know he is 16 but rules are rules

Unless the toxicology report can pinpoint the exact time MJ was in this kids system and which specific levels cause quick reflexes or a delayed reaction time, then I'd fight a double manslaughter for my 16 yr old too. Damn, this is horrible for this kid.

None of that matters. His negligent actions resulted in the death of two people.

He will do less than 4 years.

I have had poeple who smoked reefer and drove tell me that their speed slows way down. 55 becomes 45.

This is a situation which has hurt two families and it’s just sad. Hope both families find peace.

For two people to die from a rear end collision, the dude that hit them had to be doing over 75 or 80 miles an hour I would guess.

Depends on seat belt situation as well.

I assume you mean the stupid decision is driving while high.

We don't know that to be the case. Maybe he did honestly just fall asleep and this is just a random tragedy.

Ummm as a minor who they can't prove was under the influence at the time?

I seriously doubt it.

We don’t know what they can and can’t prove right now.

Well, they can't prove he was high at the time with a blood test. But you're right, maybe his friends ratted him out for smoking weed right before.

But the whole "minor" thing is a big factor in his corner and so is the potential family money alluded to in here.

4 years would be a lot.

This is true, we don't know. Hell, there may be a test that can determine the exact THC levels in his blood at the time of the accident?
