It’s not false. OU has 16 NCAA recognized NCs. 7 claimed at the university level. How many does the rest of the SEC have excluding Alabama??
No, it isn't true. OU has more than any one team other than Bama, but not more than the rest combined. AU has 2, UGA has 4, LSU has 3, UT has 6, UF has 3, UK has a disputed one in 1950(surprised the shite out of me),Ole Miss has 3(kind of), and this not counting ones won by current sec teams before the sec was founded, nor counting expansion teams that won at a least share before they were in the SEC. So the non Bama SEC teams have more consensus and more recognized than OU does, not to diminish OU's impressive tradition however.
Kentucky

National championships: 1 (1950)
The Wildcats have a lone national championship. However, Kentucky’s claimed title is the same year as one of Tennessee’s claimed title years. Funnily enough, neither Kentucky nor Tennessee are recognized as the 1950 national champion by the NCAA – that honor goes to Oklahoma. The Sooners’ championship was awarded before bowl season, but Kentucky upset Oklahoma and claims the national championship.

This is what I get for Oklahoma’s NCAA recognized NCs.
Claimed: (1950, 1955, 1956, 1974, 1975, 1985, 2000)
Recognised(Unclaimed): (1915, 1949, 1953, 1957, 1967, 1973, 1978, 1980, 1986, 2003)
The link you posted appears to show the claimed titles only.

Boomer I did the research and I found that the non Bama SEC teams had more disputed and consensus titles than OU. I will say this, the fact that I had to research and go way back to the beginning of the SEC, to reach this conclusion is a real testament to OU's football tradition.

I guess I don’t understand why we are counting Alabama’s NCs that were awarded by various polls but none of OUs unless they were awarded by the AP?
(1915, 1949, 1953, 1957, 1967, 1973, 1978, 1980, 1986, 2003)
All these years Oklahoma was awarded the NC by multiple polls.

I wasn't counting Bama's at all. I just counted the non Bama schools, and I did consensus, and the non Bama SEC came out a couple ahead, and then I did disputed, and the non Bama SEC schools had a few more of those. But I had to go back to the 30's to match OU. That is friggin amazing.
As for Bama's claims, well, I grew tired of that conversation years ago.

You hope and pray OU doesn’t come to the sec. But you know they had an offer before Mizzou back when A&M got their offer. The reality is when the big 12 implodes in a couple years all the conferences will be scrambling to make bids for OU, and Texas because they are top 10 revenue schools and are massively more successful than 90% of the secs current schools. Oklahoma has more NCs than the whole sec combined if you exclude Alabama, who’s going to pass them up???
The Big 12 is going nowhere because no conference is going to be able to afford having two more mouths to feed.
Get comfy

So could've Texas Tech or the University of Houston.
It stings, doesn't it?
Ah, yes, TDECU Stadium.
And I could totes see SEC schools making the road trip to Lubbock. That would super.
There were only two schools in Texas that would have ever been considered for admission to the SEC.
We took the one that is a much better fit for the SEC.
It's not really that complicated.

I think I read also that a lot of OU fans are pissed at how often they get 11 am game times. They feel as a top program they deserve more prime time games. They feel with a better atmosphere in prime time it helps with recruits at the game.

This is one sooner can who would prefer it. I know many, many more. SEC is a great league in all sports I care about. It would be fun.

I do not miss these cheesy 2 camera pay per view games. Do good to be in the SEC

In 2003 you lost your last 2 games including getting destroyed by K-State in Big12 championship game and losing to LSU in the bowl game. After looking back only that far I concluded going back anymore is a waste of time.
You can claim a title that year but it would look dumb.
This post is for Boomer.
