You went from 93rd in total offense and 101st in PPG to 50th in total offense and 25th in PPG under Petrino.

Safe to say he improved your offense.

I think we were hoping for a little more improvement than that.

Piggie may be satisfied with 50th and 25th but that is not what A&M was looking for.

It needs to be an obvious turnaround. Like win 5-6 more games. Don’t give 2 shits about close loses. Pittman could do that. That’s a high bar but he’ll be 65 next year. He’s in the twilight of his career. Very unlikely he’d be as good as he was 15 years ago.

My father who is an Arkansas fan (born and raised) is ecstatic that Bobby P is back in the head coach role. He tries to make fun of me saying 'A&M should have done the same when they fired Jimbo' (lol).

All that to say, some hog fans think they've found their guy already.

The modern game has passed him by just like Jimbo, Pittman, and a few others. You can't go off of his record from 10 or 15 years ago.

He followed that up by being the first coach to have a winning record in his tenure at Missouri State since the coach they hired in 1986 and lead them to their first conference title in 30 years. He went 18-15 at Missouri State when the prior coach went something like 12-43.

Mo State has also only been to the FCS playoff four times in their entire history. Booby took them to two of those four. The other two times were back in '89 and '90.

Sure. It's a reference to The Godfather III and all I meant was if he can keep his mind on football / recruiting instead of pussy he will be successful. Capiche?

If he wins 4 out of the 7 remaining games which is a huge ask and probably won't happen, he will be coach.

Three games and he's a lock. We enjoy giving coaches retirement bonuses

Missouri doctors must prescribe a lot of Tylenol during pregnancy.

I think hes going to be a stop gap hire. They dont want to roll the dice after these past couple years. They want a safe comfortable hire that will get them back up to the middle of the pack.

That’s exactly what Pittman was. His first contract gave a bonus for making a bowl game. Don’t think we go this route 2 hires in a row.
