Going from averaging 6 wins a year in the SEC and not winning a championship to maybe 8 wins a year in the Big 12 while OU/Texas still win the conference is pointless to me. So we might finish a little higher in the standings...who cares? Not a big enough difference to amount to anything.

Apparently this dude isn't aware of the serious screw jobs we got from the conference we left. We didn't leave just for more money, it went way deeper than that.

Arkansas made some terrible hires. Our three previous coaches were John L. Smith, Bret Bielema who was a drunk and lazy overaged party boy, and an overmatched high school coach.

Arkansas would finish higher in the big 12 and win conference titles. It may not be each year but Arkansas would be a more natural fit and the border rivalries would be top notch.

They cant compete in Football either. Neither can the MS schools.
We are atleast good in every other sport besides football.
Cant say the same for 5-6 teams in the conference.

Author is 100 percent right. Some of our fans are actually so brain dead, they’re ok with being a laughing stock in the SEC and are afraid if we move to the Big 12 it will “make us look bad.”

What about the screw jobs we get every year in the SEC? Auburn game last year is a perfect example.

The thing about the SEC is if any one school left it would still be a very viable conference.
Take Texas out of the Big XII and it would be a crippling and possibly fatal blow.

Its very interesting that according to the comments so far, this story appears to bother aggy more than anybody else. Would someone leaving the SEC somehow blow the narrative of the dominance of aggy? Why would PIG going to the a conference where their fans are able to drive easily to away games bother aggy? Since aggy doesnt gaf about “tu,”just the mention of anything “tu” seems to trigger aggy. Why is that?

Nope Arkansas wouldn't bring in much T.V. market to that conference. That is why Big 12 took a huge hit when Mizzou left the Big 12 conference for the SEC. Texas A&M didn't hurt the conference because Texas, TT, Baylor, and TCU are the Texas footprints. The point is people are looking into the T.V. markets first and then the school overall worthiness.

I read the article in The Athletic. The guy writing is complaining about being in the SEC because it is too hard to compete in football. Well, Arkansas is competing very well in the other major sports.
When conference realignment was taking place some years back, the three teams to bail out of the big 12 all talked about how bad they wanted to get away from Texas. If that be true, why would you want to go back to it? Texas is still there doing what Texas does, I am pretty sure.
They guy writing the article talks about the driving distance to SEC venues from Fayetteville. More of the fan base would be living in Little Rock anyway, wouldn't they? Do Arkansas fans not travel well to the SEC west venues?

Yep, we were never in the big12.
This guy has a quitter/loser attitude. I'd rather work to compete against the best than to quit and and wallow in that crap conference.
Our football program will get back to respectable but in the mean time I'm enjoying all the other sports.
