The biggest loss last season in the running game was Kiero Small being done for the season after the first game. He is probably the most physical FB in the league

We signed the #1 APB in the country. Legitimate stud.
Good player. No line.

We signed the #3 TE in the country if we are still talking Freshmen here.
I'm sure he'll be a really good tackle one day.

Our starting QB was rated higher than either Tyler Wilson or Bo Wallace coming out of high school if we are talking stars which seems to be where you are going with this point.
That's legit. We'll see what he does.

Our other RB that will be the starter was a stud in Texas HS football and the #12 overall RB two years ago.
He really wasn't that good. Didn't y'all steel him from Mizzou?

Multiple 4 stars will be in the receiving rotation.

Our center is the #1 center in the SEC.
This is a fact not lost on the Arkansas fan base.

The talent is there.
It's debatable. Your classes have hovered around the mid-30s the last several years.
And unlike OM, the Bret project hasn't lifted off, which is another reason why TAMU losing to OM would be more likely than losing to Arky.

That is why we are looking at a 6-6 type of season this year but we should be set up for very nice years in '14 and '15 as these guys move in to their junior and senior years.
I mean, who knows. You listed a few ostensibly talented offensive players.

This is an ironic post. Your hog brethren suggest it's inappropriate to conflate shitty coaching with shitty talent. I agree.
It would seem similarly inappropriate to conflate one amazing player with only decent player. But I digress.
Just a couple quick-hitters.
The entire offensive line is fantastic. Like last year's, it will be among the best in the country.
The secondary is legit.
Mike Evans is a projected first rounder at WR.
We have a running back stable chalked full of talent.
I won't discuss our freshmen because I don't need to.

8-4 seems reasonable...we didn't come to paint. Oh wait
We will win all 4 Non-Conf games, OM, MSU, AU and one of LSU or aTm.
South Carolina is overrated too...winnable game there.

You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.

You have no shot at beating any of those teams.
The infection left by Petrino--the one exasperated by Johnelle--will take several years to eradicate.
But be patient. The Hogs WILL be called again one day.

What I mean is the reason A&M is being projected as a top 5-ish team is because of JFF. I'm not saying A&M is completely devoid of talent elsewhere. But I think you have an average team without JFF.
As I said, I think you will end up around 9 wins. But I think Arkansas will steal an upset somewhere, and the A&M game sets up nicely.

Not wholly unreasonable.
And truth be told, we're not a top 10 team until a decent front 7 emerges. But as reality and our good fortune would have it, no one's going to know that because we're only going to lose two games.
A touch of luck, but I'll take it.

Look, I get what you're doing. Put the arrogant jerk in his place by dropping what you hope are clever one-line zingers.
It's not really working for you.
But please, instruct me on TAMU's RB corps.

Just a little obvious, eh?

Good player. No line.
An opinion.

I'm sure he'll be a really good tackle one day.
If Bielema did one thing good at Wisconsin it was TE's. He put 6 TE's in the NFL in 7 years at Wisconsin and I've seen Pederson projected as the top TE in next years draft. Henry will be more than just a tackle.
quote:
That's legit. We'll see what he does.
Agreed
quote:

He was the #2 RB in Texas but wasn't that good.
Texas got Gray, A&M got Williams. No need for either to offer him because I know that's the point here.

Please elaborate
Keon Hatcher and D'Arthur Cowan are both sophomores this year and are in the 2 deep. Also Mekale McKay who was our #2 receiver last year and was in the same class as those two. Very bright future between those three. All three are behind seniors however so I don't disagree with you on WR power this season.

Very similar to A&M's obsession with Matthews.

Did I ever debate this? A&M will beat us this year. That however, has more to do with learning the new schemes than talent. We were much more talented than Ole Miss last year and still got rocked by A&M while OM played you close.
quote:
I mean, who knows. You listed a few ostensibly talented offensive players.
You did the same thing for OM.

Bobby Petrino powned TAMU, the Arkansas of old would own all that is Mississippi and continue to kick the crap out of TMAU while trading wins and losses with LSU. However, that was then and this is now. Arkansas is in a bad situation with poor coaching and recruiting.
We may never be back under this new SEC West. Might as well join Conference USA or the Big whatever it is called.
