I think Starkel in a spread system is deadly.

Hicks has been getting picked too though is the thing. Then you have that 0 for 6 in the fade drill. He may end up starting, but I don't see it lasting long at all.

Got the same feeling watching him. I like how we're setting up 2 years down the road. KJ and this crop of WRs as juniors sounds damn fun.

Yes, it's his job to lose (basically).

After every scrimmage Morris says Jerry Jones’ grandson moves the team the best. Not sure what to make of that.

I don't think it matters, because Chad is still their coach.

Just want to point out that Fat Bert's team was first Hog team to beat Gay-tors since Arkansas joined SEC.

And it wasn't even close...

I’ve watched a lot of Ben Hicks from his time at SMU and if he is seriously in the competition then you have big big problems.

The hope was that he could rekindle his big year from 2017 under Morris when he had 3,500 yards and 33 TDs but from how meh he’s sounded in practice reports it’s looking like that year was more due to having Courtland Sutton and Trey Quinn to throw to.

This is 100% true. And we do have big problems, thank you very much.

I’m expecting Starkel to be named the starter this week.

Jerruh Jones grandson John Stephen Jones getting a lot of hype the past few weeks from practice.

Plan on seeing Starkel start week 1.

I really hope it’s Starkel. He’s been hot garbage in his games against State.

That's not true at all. It's been 2 scrimmages, and he said that after the first one only. Yesterday he praised Starkel for his 3 TDs.

His stats show that he’s only played in one game against state in 2017 where he went 8/15

Hicks threw another INT too. Feels like Starkel is separating more and more.

Y’all had the #1 defense so I’m not surprised that Starkel was shut down, but that’s about all the accolades State won with that D.

Watched Hicks for three years. He threw to what will end up being four NFL WR's - Proche and Sanders are next in line.

The kid is going to be a strong backup QB for the Hogs. I don't blame him for moving on from SMU, but he has a ceiling due to his lack of leadership abilities and poor decision making. Too many times I saw him move the ball into the red zone and then try to force a ball in only to watch a ninety something yard pick six happen. Then he would pout about it. Most frustrating thing in the world.

Best of luck to him, but I hope he studies hard in his master's program.

Both Rivals and 247 list Starkel QB1 after today's practice with our last scrimmage tomorrow... All aboard the Starkel train.

That A&M game will be really fun now if he starts.
