I’m going Starkel but either one will be 1000% time better than last season

Would be awesome to have him come across the middle and see him get lite up

We will probably know after our scrimmage Wednesday. Both Starkel and Hicks looked good today in the scrimmage, and we have another one on Wednesday.

I'm going with Starkel. He'll be 4-0 going into Week 5 against A&M... that would be a fun game.

From what I understand he's been more consistent then Hicks and he has a higher upside. I suspect he's the starter unless Starkel gets dinged up in practice.

I would not be surprised to see KJ Jefferson get some playing time early in the season as well.

Hicks for game 1. Starkel will probably come in at half.

At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if he shocks everyone and names John Stephen Jones

Sounds like he and Starkel were the best QBs from the scrimmage today.

I bet Hicks starts week 1 and Starkel takes over week 2 when Hicks struggles against Ole Miss. Then it will be Starkel the rest of the season.

I’ve watched a lot of Ben Hicks from his time at SMU and if he is seriously in the competition then you have big big problems.

I only say Hicks will start week 1 because Morris must've promised him something to transfer here. I believe Starkel is our QB1 but Hicks gets the nod week 1 in a blowout game.

I bet Hicks ends up #3. He was the guy in the spring due to knowledge of offense

He's not in the mix because of ability. He's in the mix because he already knows the offense. The minute Starkel equals his effective knowledge of the playbook, Hicks is on the bench. He's head and shoulders better than Hicks in action.

Word is Starkel, throws a pretty ball, but has had turnovers/accuracy issues. Hicks has been said the best at driving the team down field, which isn't hard with our TE/RB targets. We don't need deep balls, we need offensive improvement. Word on the street is that KJ has huge potential and will be a stud. Looking forward to seeing that.
