This a totally different Texas team than the one you faced in '21.

Of the handful of players still on the team from that debacle, all were too young/inexperienced to get playing time, so not a single player the hogs face will be the same.

I'll just ask this: how is your overall team speed and coverage ability/tackling in space on D? Our speed (both sides of the ball really) will be your biggest test, if you can match up well with that you have a chance.

Our defense is also vastly improved from what we put out there our last meeting. Run defense isn't as stout as last season, but we have a legit edge rush and our backfield will make your QB pay for any passes not on target.

You're the second best team TX has played. The first one beat the crap out of the horns in their own stadium. Then they turned around and got the crap beat out of them by Ole Piss. TX is very gettable. Sack up and take it to them.

Quinn looks to be close to 100%. There were a couple drives vs Florida that he still looked in his head. Hit him early and often, he hasn’t responded well.

I don’t think he’s 100% at all. He’s still not planting his foot and throwing hard. He’s relying on his talent which was on full display against Florida. Hope we get something similar this week but he’s one good hit away.

Which has nothing at all to do with our matchup.

I think it will be a difficult game for TX. Arky has looked well in spurts and will put it all together this weekend for their super bowl. If Quinn gets hit early and starts looking over his shoulder, the yips he got against Uga just may return.

This is a classic trap game. Longhorns riding high after curb stomping Florida at home (that didn't have a QB) and piggy coming off a bye having two weeks to prep and nothing to lose. Titboss trying to save his job, Petrino auditioning for either pig or something else that opens up. These are the types of game where the superior team doesn't always win.

The worst part is titboss stressed (or at least tried) the importance of this rivalry to his players, not sure Sark did more than the usual "we can't overlook anyone and their crowd will be fired up etc etc"

Marginal.

I would expect a fake punt, going for it everytime its 4th and 5 or less. Nothing to lose mentality, this is the biggest game for the rest of the year so I just expect us to throw out all stops.

I have no idea how bought in the team is at this point, but in all honesty this game has been circled since Texas announced they were joining the SEC.

If Green & Jackson were healthy (they may return but doubtful healthy), maybe it's a game. This generation of mercenaries doesn't understand or care about the historical significance of this game.

It will be close for a quarter or so but I expect us to fold after another stupid turnover deep in our territory by Green.

You vastly overestimate how much care we have left. This team is done, Pittman lost them.
Absolute bullshite. Even if the players have given up on anything truly meaningful, individual players will be either auditioning for the NFL or new portal team. Having a performance that helps their team beat a top 5 Texas team is the only thing they have left.

Also, I like JQJ and hope he gets to play Saturday. I liked the kid during his recruitment and wish we had found some way to get him on the field in burnt orange. Sucks for him and us, but is what it is.

Hoping the harsh 55 degree wind chill is more than Texas can handle.
