I’m sure Yurachek wants football to be good, but his hands are tied if the boosters won’t give him the cash.

The Waltons don't care for sports unless it deals with art or bike trails.

JB Hunt and Tyson are doing the most work.

Yet when given the cash, the powers in charge up there continue to hire unqualified candidates to compete in the toughest division in all of college football. It's become a vicious cycle of medocrity.

I thought their collective would be for all sports and not individual funds for each sport.

I am taking it you are not part of the grove collective?

First question it ask is "Choose a sport(s) you want your donation to benefit"

Plenty of people were mad at Bianco last year and threatened to give the money to basketball. I believe Cleary went out and raised a pile of it for us to be able to compete but still way behind LSU and Arkansas on the baseball NIL money.

Are the Waltons not donating to Missouri as well? Thought the track and field facilities were donated by them? And some other sports complexes.

I would think between Jerry Jones, Walmart and Tyson there would be NIL money flowing.

I have no real knowledge on the innerworkings of NIL, so I'm just kind of spit balling here. But I feel like it might be harder to utilize NIL deals for national brands?

Small to Midsize companies typically have business targeted towards a specific region or areas - which can sometimes align with the footprint of a certain university. It might not be practical for a national brand like Walmart or Tyson to have a advertising campaign with just KJ Jefferson (for example) when they can just develop a more generic one they can use all across the country?

Maybe if Arkansas had a winning team with a Heisman Trophy contender. but they dont... (had to throw that in)

In short, money drys up quick when your bad.

I was under the impression that Ark gave every scholarship football player $47.5k/yr. Maybe I’m wrong and that’s averaged over every player…IDK.

Every freshman signee at Ark gets 45k no matter if they’re a 3 star or 5 star. They will continue to struggle in recruiting until they pay more for the upper level guys

congratulations to folks who live in other places that kind of suck but have good football teams?

Does the sec have more than 1 or 2 good teams this season? There doesn’t appear to be from what I’ve seen. So, iow, many here lead a double suck life.

No big donors are pissed and the checkbooks are still out 100% supporting Jimbo. Seems to be what you are saying.

correct. donors have been funding mediocrity for years now. now all of a sudden they're pissed? mediocre under sumlin, mediocre under jimbo, mediocre under sherman, the list goes on.

so yes, the checkbooks are still out 100% supporting jimbo. then when jimbo gets inevitably fired for the same mediocrity, those same "pissed" donors will overpay again for another mediocre coach.

it's the program and culture. that's the problem. but yall refuse to see it.

Really though, it’s like pro teams now…only the salary cap varies wildly based your donors’ appetite and depth of pockets.

KJ is making $1M. Pittman has brought in good transfers and recruits.

NIL isn’t the issue. The issue is the OL and OC

You know anyone could move to NWA and still root for a good football team right? You don't have to live in the town of your alma mater/ college you root for

Not sure I buy that.

The entire LSU offense is more talented than any of Arkansas's offensive players.

Word is that the Hunts specifically won't give much to football a) because they love hoops and 2) because th2y know Pittman is not a good HC and don't eat to piss away $$ in wasted investments.

If a really badass FB coach were ever hired who the Hunts saw as legit, they would pony up bigly, just like they currently do in bball.

Arkansas hoops probably has top 3-5 NIL in the nation. Football supposedly has more than ppl think, but not nearly enough to actually compete.

If a Chadwell or Jonathan Smith took the helm, Hunts would probably start dropping many more bags for FB.

Also, the university seems to openly and purposefully do a shitty job promoting and aligning NIL. There really are no non-billionaire collectives like Ole Miss and many others have.

Justin Moore could be out there giving a 'free' concert every year that requires a $50 'donation"to NIL funding, but he's jot doing anything of the sort. That's telling. No one has any longterm faith in Pittman.

They know he was a stop-gap and that's it.

Arkansas is about as close to an old southern baptist church as possible.

In those politically driven churches when the people want a new pastor they decrease their giving. It’s their nature to do the same to their Saturday church.

The Arkansas administration and big donors don't align on the same goals for good reason.

Most people moving to NWA are roughly 80% California and 20% Texas.

Many are not fans of football and the ones that are fans of pro teams or other college teams.
