NIL proves once again it has changed the game and tradition alone is becoming a nonfactor. If you have the money you can get what you want. Tradition rich but not so wealthy schools are worried.

1 booster is controlling this at the moment. A basketball team is easier than a football team. Our big donors aren’t going to give any more to football because of this. Would be cool if it did wake some up but they’d have to get someone way better than Sam.

Reports are saying it's John Tyson and Jerry Jones behind this. That's 2 billionaires. And, that's more to work with than the vast majority of power 2 programs.

It seems the money folks aren’t as invested in football as much as basketball. It used to be that the head football coach was always paid more than the other coaches no matter what, that pissed Richardson off, times have changed.

We haven’t had a big money booster step up for football like what just happened, maybe this will open some more coin purses now…..

Arkansas may already have their next head coach on staff.

I think if they see success in baseball then will be more likely to get more involved in football.

this was a big step.

Do you know that Cal is now a washup basketball coach? Very similar to football coach Brian Kelly. Both don't seem to have it in them to win a championship. Cal already won one and he seems to get lazy and is not motivated to win another one.

Lack of interest in football from donors.

maybe.

but you may also must consider Cal was at Kentucky for 15+ years and to say there was a rift is an understatement.

they should have found a way to separate a few years back and didn't for whatever reason.

was he at his best during the last few years? doubtful

can he reignite and still recruit at a high level? yes.

if he's happy maybe he does well.

but guys like him don't forget how to coach.

Look no farther than Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M.

Hello made up Alabama fan Shaft Williams. Where is Arkansas going to get another huge sack of cash to hire a new football coach?

Arkansas went all in on basketball.

People like you were saying Southern Cal would never be a force again. Look at their recruiting and most importantly their defensive staff. USC has money to burn and now they have their NIL rolling. I believe Arkansas is just getting started.

not sure I can get behind that comparison.

one coach will be in the Hall of Fame.

the other is just a tool that lucked out.

You realize we have a few billionaires up there, right? It’s just getting them to spend it on football like we just did in basketball.

Stephens, Lindseys, Hunts, Tysons, Jerry Jones. They just have to be motivated. Not saying they will, but there's more than enough money.
