Arkansas has a Z tier secondary, is A&M good enough to exploit it?

Real conversation only you fricking troglodytes.

The story will either be one of two things.

- A&M finally gets the passing game some momentum against the worst secondary in the FBS

Or

- The A&M passing attack wasn't good enough to exploit the glaring issue that is the Arkansas secondary.

I'm going with the latter here, BUT..

I think A&M will have enough success to build on.

Something along the lines of 225 yards, 1 TD and no interceptions.

Max is really good at keeping the ball safe.

I'm hammering the over here, hit it at 48. I think this game will go well into the 50s and be extremely close.

What say the rant?

Max will have Stewart and Marshall at receiver. For the first time this season, our best offensive players will all be on the field.

If it doesn’t happen against the worst pass defense in the country, it ain’t gonna happen period, and A&M will finish the year 5-7 or 6-6.

Jimbo only managed 151 passing yards vs them last year

What could go wrong

Miami was god awful last week and the Aggies were not much better. I have zero faith in their passing attack outside of screens to the RBs.

Are all the frosh WRs back from suspension? That could help a bit and maybe one of those studs breaks one

Couple of things...

We haven't really thrown downfield a lot. Either Fisher not calling deep routes or QB doesn't have time to wait for it to develop.

We have had a hard time getting separation over the middle. No idea why.

Ags rush for 150 and throw for 225 we probably win. Ags rush for 200 and throw for 225 we definitely win.

I think that’s the biggest factor in the game tomorrow. Not our defense vs their offense, but if we can work a successful passing attack vs their last ranked secondary.

It’s going to sound weird but I think we don’t put up huge numbers (Jimbo’s scheme just sucks), but still win the game. We haven’t had a 300 yard game since 2020 under Mond and I think that continues. Max puts up somewhere above 200, but running game also helps out and we win a low scoring affair. Guess we will see tomorrow,

We were/are beat up back there. There were guys playing spots/roles they hadnt really been coached to play. It's not as bad as it seems, but, by all means PLEASE think that.

Lost in all this discussion is that Arkansas’ front 6 is salty AF.

How much of a gamer is Max? Is he going to stand strong and deliver the ball downfield repeatedly in the face of pressure? Or is he going to get happy feet and wilt? Would you like to hang your team’s chances of winning on Max rising to that sort of occasion, the guy who was the backup two weeks ago?

I have serious concerns with our ability to go after their secondary due to our o-line. If I remember correctly, Arkansas leads the conference (nation?) in sacks and they will give us fits in pass protection.

Arkansas leads the country in sacks, A&M OL is booty juice.

If Arkansas brings pressure, it won’t matter who plays receiver because Max won’t have time.

Arkansas will also ground the game out and limit A&M’s possessions.

Hogs win 115-4.

It depends if Jimbo exploits personnel matchups well.

Jimbo is an offensive guru so we have no chance.

Our D is going to pick up on their run pass tells. Jimbo has made it so easy internet message board posters can call the run pass plays before they occur.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we finish 6&6 as well. They’ll have to upgrade our nickname around here to Texas 6&6

I’m not confident that Jimbo figures out how to coach the American football forward pass.

Hogs avg. 37.7 points per game.
atm avg. 20.7 points per game.
Plus we've played a much tougher schedule.
Both teams will perform a little better Saturday
41-24 Hogs seems about right

I mean, Rattler threw for nearly 400 yards vs Arkansas and we’ve seen how shite he’s played this year. So, why not?
