That is what I am thinking. He is literally being double-paid at this point.

No he's not. He is not getting any more than what his original contract called for. Arkansas' part is reduced by what Auburn will be paying him. He is not getting the full amount from Arkansas, plus whatever Auburn agreed to pay him.

Unless I am misunderstanding what you mean by double paid?

You aren't. You are just talking to someone who might not have the best grasp on some basic concepts.

Am I remembering wrong?

Didn't Arky's group stop payments to Bert because they said he was not really looking for a job and was paid below the median?

I do not remember if that was resolved.

Ark pays his original contract minus what AU pays him. Ark can only contest if AU doesn’t pay him the market value of a P5 OC.

You are, in fact, correct.

Bert spent a year as an unpaid "volunteer" and then signed on as a D-Line coach well under the NFL average.

Plus he had not been filing the paperwork he was supposed to every 6 months to show that he was actually looking for an extra job.

Basically Bert was too lazy to do the minimal amount needed to show that he was looking for work of equal value. Which, I should add, would have been show up for a few interviews and not try very had to land them.

If he had given even the vaguest hint he was looking for a decent job we'd still be paying him.

We will be picking up part of Chad's overall paycheck for a couple of years because he actually bothered to go out and get a decent job with what seems like decent pay.

Well said. I'm no big fan of Chad Morris but he did exactly what he should have done, as far as I know, in this and landed a job as soon as he could.

Thanks.

I remembered something about it.

Wow, it sounds like Bert has serious life issues.

It is starting to come out that his booze issues, which most of us knew he had, were so bad that he had shown up to some recruiting visits drunk.

I’ve always wondered why fired coaches aren’t hired for free at their next job.

I’m not upset, I just think you’re a naggy bitch that seems unhappy and you even named yourself homesick- well move home, what’s stopping ya? Go.

Btw- an example of your weirdness would be your shocked thread from this morning (or middle of the night not sure) where you acted as if firing the assistant coaches of a fired head coach was something bizarre.

He was showing up to small town booster club events drunk. I was told this by a family friend back home in 2013

I scratched my head and didn't think much about it because I was on board with the hire.

If Gus gets fired by Auburn then he can go out and double dip. There is nothing to stop gus from doing it. Most coaches however do have offset clauses in their contracts. I'm sure Morris did.

Gus doesnt have one of those clauses.

I've never heard of an AD terminating basically the whole staff of a football team before hiring a new coach and you haven't either if you're being honest.

As far as moving back to La., I've probably lived in Ark. longer than you have.
