Simple. We owe him 2.5 million a year. Aubbie pays him 750k per year. At that point we only have to pay 1.75 million per year. With ours and Auburns $ it is 2.5 million a year

Maybe chad will make the same mistake as Burt. Don’t know the complete terms of his contract. Could have a minimum dollar amount he has to get for a certain position like an oc in a p5 conference. If he violates the terms of his contract Arkansas has shown they will stop paying the buy out.

I don't think that this is correct.

You are offered a contract for a job by a Company and will receive pay for that contract to the end unless you quit. He was "let go" prematurely by Arkansas, against his will and future intentions, therefore he must be paid in accordance to what he signed up for.

HE did not abandon his job. ARKANSAS decided to cease his employment and would then owe him the rest of the money within that particular agreement.

That is the reason for signing such things, is it not?

Once again, not trying to create any animosity with my Razorback friends.

Actually he took an advisory position without pay. There's something in his clause about a reduction in his pay from Arky if he makes over 150 grand a year. So, in his second year he is actually hired at exactly 150 grand a year and that is where the rub is. Arky claims he is being underpaid for what he now does and Arky quit paying him. It's in the courts presently.

It was 50k. And the rub is he was suppose to seek similar gainful employment. He did not. Good luck fighting a contract dispute of that nature in Washington county Arkansas.

It's completely bizarre to see an entire thread acting like contracts universally contain the same terms

Wrong.

Of course he’s been being paid by the Patriots since assuming the role of assistant to coach Bill Belichick in early 2018, but the amount apparently was slightly below the mitigating number of $150,000 before it started reducing his buyout from the UA.

Perhaps so. But, I also stated that I was unfamiliar in this regard.

No need to get worked up and start getting your non-existent legal expertise involved.

I simply asked a question.

I do think that Arkansas owes this man his full contract however due to the fact that "they" and not "he" made the final decision.

There is a difference.

The Razorbacks fired Morris on Nov. 10 after a 45-19 home loss to Western Kentucky — a Group of Five quarterbacked by Arkansas transfer Ty Storey — to 2-8 on the year. Morris is owed slightly more than $10 million in buyout money from Arkansas through 2023, but that amount will be offset by whatever he is paid at Auburn. Details of Morris’ contract -- length and compensation -- have not yet been announced. Morris’ predecessor, Dillingham, earned $500,000 during his one season on the Plains.

Well first off I read it in the Dem-Gaz when the paper first ran the story. Here's the article I pulled the quote from just to make sure my memory didn't fail me. there are other articles also. Google it.

I think you are wrong on that. I don't think that Auburn has to foot your bill for anything in that regard.

He is free at this point. Why would Auburn have to pay "anything" given that we just hired a free man/coach that was unwillingly let go from another job.

Arkansas decided to part ways with their current 2019 Coach. Auburn has nothing to negotiate in hiring a "former and separated" member of your staff.

"You" fired him with a contract remaining.

Auburn owes no one anything extra other than offering Morris a new job.
