I tend to think Arkansas has a valid claim in 1964. It’s a split title. What I have issue with is questioning Alabama’s poll titles because of the 1941 claim by an SID in the 1980s.

1941 is bogus and Alabama should drop it.

Alabama is the only NC in 1964. It's a matter of how things worked at the time. Alabama enters the game against Texas as the national champions. It wasn't a national championship game, it did not have national championship consequences, it was just an exhibition game of pride.

Plus - according to Namath, Texas only won because of a bad call on a QB sneak. Refs claimed he didn't make it in, but Namath says he did. Doesn't really matter because exhibition game, but it's not like Texas won big.

Imagine if Michigan the past year wins the National Championship, then they play an exhibition game against some team in Feb. Then 60 years later people start claiming some other team is the National Champion because Michigan lost that game in Feb. That's basically what the 1964 Arkansas claim is.

Not on my watch, I'm going to call it out every time I see it.

People 60 years later aren’t claiming it only. People from 1964 proclaimed Arkansas 1964 national champs.

By 5 writers in a secret ballot on a stupid format that counted exhibition games.

Alabama was awarded the National Championship on Nov 30, 1964.

Alabama played Texas on Jan 1, 1965. Over a full month AFTER they were awarded the national championship.

You are counting exhibition games.
1964 Bama would've been 3rd at best in SWC.
Arkansas 12-0, with win over 11-1 Texas.
Bama, 11-1 with loss to Texas.

But like you said, there was someone who "awarded" them a title-in-name-only" before the season was complete.

The voters of the time disagree.

Taco Tech player will remember next time not to be laying on his teammates like a dead fish and take 30 minutes getting up.

Yeah, that player should never have taken that gun to scene where a murder was committed with it, and his coach should have punished him in some way other than playing him every game. Trashy low class program and fan base indeed for letting that happen. That woman died because of him.

Are you blind? He steps and puts his entire bodyweight on his ankle in cleats. What other side of the story are you thinking would justify that?

That’s how you get some dude who’s laying with all his weight on top of your teammate who can’t get up and may be trying to catch his breath and it worked without hurting the dude or causing a fight.

Are you blind or just short sighted.

I don't think it's "pussy" to tweet about it. Otherwise, no one would know. It's not like people are watching highlights from last night's game - specifically, highlights of after play incidents or non-incidents.

It's insane how many people here are defending his actions...

Especially when you consider how many of those same people will be in church tomorrow.
