Yankee gumps, how are y'all in baseball?
We will singlehandedly bring down the entire conference. Such a terrible addition.

Mizzou wanted to be in the Big 10 so they could continue the illusion that they are big time in football. Now that that has been shattered by a league that plays defense, the SEC can only hope that they bring some legitimacy to basketball. I have no knowledge of Mizzou's baseball tradition or lack thereof. Yankee gumps, how are y'all in baseball?
They might as well not have a baseball program.lol.
As far as football goes, people knock the Big 12...Funny how SEC teams wanted West Virginia for tougher competition, WVU goes to the Big 12 and is getting ROCKED. Mizzou and aTm couldn't hang in the Big 12 but..... aTm is hanging in the SEC. Big 12 is not as weak as people think!

Would have preferred GT (never going to happen) and WVU.
Why West Virginia, The lil weak Big 12 is exposing their arse.

We have no fan support, but the teams have been ok during the past few years.

West fricking Virginia? Couch fires and shitty fans? The "upgrade" to the big 12 that just lost to Texas Tech and Kansas State by multiple touchdowns?
IMO, Missouri is more of a cultural fit than WVU, by far.

I've heard horror stories of their fans assaulting visiting fans, etc. I doubt if they'll do that to Big 12 fans because you won't have as many traveling that far away, but I'm sure it would have gotten ugly with fans from Kentucky, Tenn, South Carolina, UGA, etc.

One is coached by an SEC guy and the other has possibly the greatest coach in the country. Only man who could ever win in the little apple--twice!

welcome back mizzoukills. i have missed your insightful comments. all sarcasm aside, it is good to hear that it is not just bama and florida fans that have a superiority complex. as in their case, it is unclear as to how that mental condition was developed but there are bound to be reasons that are not visible to us outsiders.

Not saying that Mizzou is horrible in basketball but the idea that they are far superior to A&M just doesn't hold water.
Talk about recruiting? Mizzou had one great year (2010) by most recruit rankings but other than that has recruited about on par with A&M and like I said with the exception of last year (first year under a new head coach with a lot of personnel loses and injuries) A&M has dominated the series since BCG arrived.

I like TT (coached at A&M) and respect the hell out of Bill Snyder. Imagine what would happen to WVU in the SEC?
Mizzou may be mix with a mid-western, yankee-esque culture, but they are also pretty southern in most parts. They are certainly more southern than the turbo-yankee wannabe, seceded-from-Virginia-because-they-wanted-to-be-yankees....yankee/white-trash retards from that shitty state. Give me Josey Wales over mountaintard any day.

For anyone that had the slightest thought they wanted to add WVU, please watch this video and then kindly slap yourself.

Thank you. WVU was mighty and tough in the Big East, looked good vs Texas, now they're getting worn out playing tough teams back to back to back.lol.
The reason why I like Mizzou in the SEC is because they're in the same conference with LSU. I get to have more SEC smack talk in this area. But to be honest we all know Mizzou is a better fit for B1G or Big 12. Missouri is Midwest, it's major cities are Midwest.
aTm is a great fit, the SEC in Texas is great! aTm have a great fan base, nice big stadium, good traditions. Hell they can play with SEC teams, hung in there with UF and LSU. I have a feeling they'll be a major force within a year or two. Sumlin will be getting more of his players he recruited playing.
I give aTm a better chance of beating Bama over Miss State. Actually hoping aTm smacks the shite out of Bama.

1) First to Mizzou and A&M Fans, what are your thoughts with being in the SEC so far? Are there any differences you notice from SEC fans compared to Big 12 fans?
The difference is staggering. Just three years ago, we were the least-televised team in America (7 of 13 games, 2 on Fox College Sports-Central only). At Fort Bragg, I've been able to watch every single game this year on my basic cable package. We may only have one game not televised (Sam Houston, thanks Byrne).
It's not just football either. I've been able to watch nationally televised volleyball and soccer games as well. Why? SEC, enough said.
The production value of our football broadcasts in the SEC is exponentially better as well.
Regarding the fans: When, out of 12 schools, 9 have won conference or division titles as opposed to only 6 of 12 (for the Big 12 over the same timeframe), you're going to have knowledgeable fans. Also, EVERY GAME MEANS SOMETHING.
I have no answer for 2-5.

6) Should we add another 2 schools soon to get our expansion to 16?
Let's get the hang of 14 first.

even with the $50 million buyout the ACC voted on?
Posted on 10/23/12 at 12:50 pm to Dr RC
Nothing is happening until or unless the ACC breaks up.
Theoretically though the $50 million is something that could be worked through. It would almost certainly be negotiated down to start and you could have the conference and school kick in on it. Problem is you are likely talking about 2 schools as well so that's a bigger number and a more damaging blow to the conference. That's another reason why I think North Carolina is the primary target, NC is the ACC.

In Texas, we have a saying: All hat and no cattle. That is mizzoo in a nutshell. All talk.
Mizzou has beat you 5 of the last 6 times, that is some cattle for you.
I love the hate from the Aggies. They call us midwestern/northern.
You do known that 90% of the state of Texas is southwest/mexican. It's not exactly a stable of the southeast. Yes your school is in the southeast corner, try applying similar logic to our state. It's half southern/hilly and half midwestern/plains.

Mizzou was a necessity to have even number of teams, so this whole thing is about A&M. Financially it makes sense. Athletically they don’t bring much to the table.
All this A&M supposed potential is a myth and complete farce. They had a window of opportunity in the 90’s when OU, UT and LSU whom they recruit head to head against all were struggling simultaneously. They became good; but far from elite. Not even once had a legitimate chance to win a NC with all in their favor.
In the SEC with the competition they face they will have occasional good teams, but will never win the league much lessr a NC.
No team has lost more winnable games where they had a chance to make a statement than them. Specially at home. Names of coaches and players change but their identity remains the same. You are who you are. Aggies are losers.
