Oklahoma fans are starting to get nervous about playing in the SEC in 2024. The 2024 SEC schedule came out on Wednesday and it has Oklahoma facing Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas at home, while traveling to play Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, and Missouri.

You hate it for them. They’re going to have it so rough.

Poor bastards

Like Kentucky, they UT and Utx in the same season

Seems at least the Vols were good guests the last time but Neylend might not be so warm and fuzzy.

They were 6-7 last year. No matter if it's an SEC or Big XII schedule I'd be worried.

And Texas gets the softest schedule possible.

OU will be just fine. The seasons will be far more difficult but the fans will get outstanding football every weekend.

I mean, is 6 big12 titles, 4 bowl game wins, and 0 ncs per decade really that impressive when you can't make it out of the SEC alive?

OU and TX about to find out why conference titles don't really mean shite.

It's always funny to see those all decade rankings knowing what other conferences have to go through.

OU will not be fine with their current coach. OU has a ton of football history but they are about to go through a struggle. They always used heavy NIL to get a kid to come to a place like Norman. Now everyone can pay. That on top of having 5-6 programs better from recent history plus everything OU has they are screwed

No more playoffs or conference championships. Lot of 7-8 win seasons

I think they already know. In OU's case, they've found out every time they've made the playoffs. In Texas' case...well they can't even win the Big 12 since Colt McCoy was there and suddenly they're gonna win the SEC?

They will need to adjust expectations or go through a revolving door of coaches.

Vandy is gonna have some company. Misery loves company. That should make Okla feel better. Vandy folks really don’t care though

It’s true of all of their fans nonetheless.

How is Norman any different than Tuscaloosa? It’s in a small rural state about an hour from the largest city in the state. Neither have beaches nor mountains. Both towns have the non-ag school with a storied football history. Both teams colors are red and white.

So, what makes it such a struggle for OU joining the SEC? I’ve always felt like they are a good fit culturally.

OU will eventually figure it out and be a top tier SEC program. They are a true Blue Blood program that knows what it takes to win. Will they dominate the SEC? Of course not, but they'll certainly be a force. Much respect for the Sooners.
