Penn State is not a Blue Blood but this point has been overlooked.

The only football powerhouse that has the capacity to go undefeated is, The Alabama Crimson Tide. Try to start coping now.

I love this excuse everytime. Tua didn’t look like he had a damn thing wrong with him during that game until he knew the game was over and decided to start limping like he was hurt lol
Tua didn’t look slow or off or anything. Bama fans were being butt hurt bitches about the game and trying to use Tua as an excuse as to why they lost. Get over it the better team won that game.

quote:On the flip side, the SEC had 8 teams win at least 9 games, 5 of which won 10+. That’s pretty good.
it’s going to be extremely difficult for a team to go undefeated

I like how you cut off at 1998. Very arbitrary.

Don’t watch football, do you?
2019 LSU is literally the best team in CFB history.

I think it depends on if they expand the scholarship limit like they have been discussing.
One of the reasons OSU is playing so well is because they actively slowed their offense down all season. They huddled all year and played offense at the slowest pace of any of the 12 playoff teams. They actively were managing snaps in week 3.
I'm obviously well aware that OSU lost at home to Michigan, but they lost 2 games by a combined 4 points. The loss to Oregon was a weird game, and we all saw the Michigan game with the gameplan.
I think it may be true because you don't have to go undefeated anymore, but I think the top teams will still have the ability to do so

Nah. The University of Saban no longer exists.

Based on what?
Because their defense didn’t even rank inside the Top 30 (8th in the SEC), and their offense had their records broken the very next year by a team that didn’t play Northwestern State or Utah State.

Most likely
Playing additional playoff games against parity driven bought rosters it will be very hard
Just surviving the sec will be hard enough

Fun fact: 2019 LSU wasn't even #1 in the F+ rankings for that year alone, much less all time.
Tied with Alabama on the offense side for #1, but not even a top10 team defensively coming in all the way down @ #14.
2 sides of the ball. The GOAT is elite on offense AND defense.

I look at LSU, and wonder what they could have done with
a) a healthy Chris Hilton all season on offense
b) a healthy Harold Perkins all season on defense
Hilton is our deep threat. As y'all probably remember, he was out a long time, and when he first came back he jumped at the wrong time for the ball (A&M and Fla games)

He settled in after awhile, and absolutely torched Oklahoma and Baylor at the end. Ran past corners like they were standing still. Showed good hands too, caught a couple while being interfered with.
Perkins is our linebacker/QB spy savant. Again, as you might recall, he hadn't been special recently, but he burst onto the scene by completely destroying Arkansas' mobile QB. He could have contained Milroe and Reed, at least in theory.
Just 2 guys who could have made a big difference for LSU, in the games they lost. Hilton could have added 10x points vs USC, making it a win. Perkins containing Reed makes the A&M game a win. Containing Milroe would throw him off his rhythm, and we see how Bama looks when Milroe is off- could have won that. Then the Fla game, I think a bit more pressure on Lagway and a better deep game and we win.
That's no slight on any of the teams that beat LSU, it just shows how managing your roster and minimizing injuries can change things.
