Are schools and fans going to celebrate finishing in the Top 12 as an accomplishment?

As an LSU fan I can’t imagine putting up a banner or celebrating for “making” this version of the playoffs if not in the Top 4.
But some schools that have very little or little to no real historical success, I could see a pathetic display of celebrating what ultimately is mediocrity.
For example, could I see Ole Miss or USCe putting up a banner for making the playoff as a 12 seed? Yes, yes I could.
Additionally, many of these coaches have nice big bonus amounts that are triggered by CFP appearances. In normal times that meant a finish in the top 4. Are these now going to be rewarded for 5-12?
Again all seems pathetic to celebrate mediocrity at the alter of actual excellence.

Everyone gets a “trophy” society.

Making a 12 team playoff is not going to be really brag worthy. But, extended droughts of missing the 12 team playoff will be the new "your team officially sucks" mark on the wall.

I expect it will be pretty universal that schools commemorate making the 12 team football playoff similar to how they commemorate making a sweet 16 in basketball.

Could end up being more of “Final 4” or semi-final (or whatever we’ll end up calling it), similar to basketball

The funny part will be when it expands to 16 then 20 teams, and the teams and fans start talking shite on the teams who hadn’t made it when it was *just* 12

Making a twelve team playoff will not be easy for 90% of the teams in D1. They can celebrate if they wanna.
