Cal picked a bad year to get his arse handed to him in recruiting by Coach K.

I never said that(well, I don't think i did). And we lost our whole team, which isn't unusual. But we usually replace them with a fair amount of top prospects. We didn't do that, Knox was our best guy and he wasn't top 5 on any services which we usually get one of atleast. The players we returned were not big factors last year. We only returned 5ppg from last season. I'm still gonna be patient with this team but they're making it hard.

K has him on NC’s during the same years of Cal’s tenure but if you look at the overall body of work it’s arguable.

Honest question for UK fans, how much roster turnover are u expecting from this years team? Still full of talent but seems a few would benefit from staying another year.

I think Knox and Diallo go with maybe one more but doubt it. Washington, Vandy, Green, SGA(the one who could potentially go as well) and Richards return IMO. Obviously Gabriel as well.

bullshite. With all the talent you guys get each and every year?

They’ve typically had some guys return to mix with this many freshman. I think everybody knew it there was potential to get ugly if they didn’t gel with the improvement in the SEC.

But to fire Cal? GTFO.

Cal needs to concentrate on 50-100 guys that will stay a few years and bring in 2 top 10 guys every year. I swear, UK should be able to win more championships than they do. Seniority and leadership would go a long way at getting the most out of your one and dones.

I agree. At Memphis he typically had one or two top players and then a bunch of guys who were there 3-4 years. He's shown he's tried to do that, hopefully he continues to do so.

Buh-ZUH?! I'm not clear what you meant to type in that first part of the sentence, but as far as body of work, K is to Cal as Saban is to Les. The only place Cal is arguably close to K is recruiting. And that's starting to shift away from Cal too. A couple more years of this and that won't be arguable either.

Diallo doesn't add much to our team, Knox is a streaky shooter and SGA I think stays but we'll see. SGA would be toughest to replace of those 3. Diallo and Knox are leaving regardless.

Next years team is all depending on guys like Vandy and Washington. I like the guards we have coming in but we need some front court players to return.

Keep in mind the timeframe I referenced was since 2009 when Cal came to Kentucky.

K-257-60 overall 110-39 conference
2 championships
2 final fours
2 sweet 16’s
1 round of 32
2 1st round

Cal-266-61 overall 118-32 conference

1 championship (2 finals)
4 final 4’s
2 elite 8’s
1 round of 32
1 NIT 1st round

Keep in mind K had been running a machine for decades before this period. Cal took over for Gillespie.

I stand by my statement: arguable.

Maybe you should be hired to do that for Kentucky?

Cats fans should know because Cal has explained his recruiting a million times. He will NEVER not take the more talented kid (character, etc. being equal). He values talent above experience. It ain’t gonna change.
