We were all wrong about the Texas offense for 2 reasons:
#1 Arch has regressed. No one expected him to take a giant step back. Does he have the yips because he all the sudden can't handle pressure? Is he doing drugs? Is someone in his family fighting a private battle with cancer and he can't focus? Did he always suck and his good moments last season were the anomalies?
#2 I was worried about the Texas o-line on paper. We came into the year starting 1 5*, one guy who was barely a 4* and 3 guys that were low 3*s. Most of the Big 12 has more talent on their starting o-line than Texas. Sark convicned everyone that the * rankings were wrong and the Texas coaches were right. They insisted we had the dudes. 13 of 16 SEC teams added an o-lineman in the portal. Texas did not. This was after losing 4 o-line starters.
Texas will go 2-3 in our remaining 5 games. We will likely get smoked in our bowl game.

If Arch was playing exactly the same as last year, we might be undefeated. Remember, Ohio State in week 1 in Columbus was a 1 score game. We doubled up the rushing total of Ohio State.
It isn't that Arch hasn't improved. It is that his vacillating mental state causes him to play games in which he literally cannot complete a short pass to a wide open receiver who is standing still. I've never seen anything like this.

For the most part, they lost to good teams. Arizona St lost to shitty teams. Clemson lost 3 games.
Not all teams with the same record are equal. Georgia lost to Alabama and Ole Miss, top 15 teams. Arizona St lost to 5-7 Cincy and 8-5 Texas Tech.
