Thanks. Great info.
That last castle you mentioned is one of the famous ones and is definitely on our list.
We will rent a car but our plan is to fly in to Paris and take the train to the Loire Valley, stay for a few days, then take the train back to Paris. We would like to stay in one hotel in the Loire and not have to change hotels.
Since Rousse is so tight with Wade, we can put him in charge of getting him here. I’m sure Verge would be fine with that.

It better not be in December because I am already making travel plans for October 25.

Endymion is the king of canceling due to weather threats
Actually, until covid, Endymion was the only major parade that had never been cancelled because it paraded in Kenner the year of the police strike in 1979.
We paraded in the rain a couple of times and one year we had to follow Bacchus on Sunday night because of rain on Saturday. That was the first parade after Katrina and was probably the biggest parade night in the history of Mardi Gras.
I would like to see LSU hire him in some capacity. He could take whatever position that was that Wilson turned down.
We are in the process of planning a trip to Paris for the Saints game in October. We have decided to go up early and spend a few days in the Loire Valley.
Does anyone have recommendations for hotels, restaurants, castles and wineries?
And even the town to stay in.

Tours seems to be the most centrally located and the best transportation hub.
Orleans is the biggest city, and I can trace my ancestry to the early 1700s from records in a church there.
Blois looks nice.
Amboise has come highly recommended to us by friends. Amboise is the leader in the clubhouse right now.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

P.S.
On the list of things not to do, don't bother saying "Skip the Saints game".

I just came from the Endymion meeting. We will have to keep very close watch on the weather.

Boudro's on the Riverwalk.
Yes.
Lonesome Dove for dinner then walk over to Billy Bob’s.
He is an elite kick returner. He has not developed into an elite wide receiver.
He had a rough day and that is not the first one he has had this year. He needs to hit the weight room in the offseason.
Okay. I think y’all have talked me out of the day trip. We may try to spend a few days in a place like Amboise or Tours.

Thanks for all the responses. I will start another thread to get more detailed recommendations about an extended trip. .
We may be better off not knowing what he is saying.
I have watched them all, starting with Lombardi’s Packers. I attended number four, the Chiefs over the Vikings.
I have been to Versailles, Fontainebleau, Chartres,Reims and Giverny as day trips. Never been to Chantilly.
Strausbourg and Colmar sound intriguing. I have never thought of them as being day trips from Paris. I remember being in the Black Forest region of Germany and seeing the sign pointing to Strasbourg 5 km. away. We didn’t seem to be anywhere close to Paris.
They hit on the most important piece, the quarterback.
I am happy with ours right now.

Nope. Not quite.
He has Jay Johnson and Kim Mulkey on his record.
I could rent a car if we spend a few days there.

I was looking at something like Blue Fox Travel out of Paris. They take you on a 12 hour day trip in a minivan from Paris that includes Chenoneau, Chambord and Amboise.

If we decide to spend more time there, is there a better airport to reach it from the US than CDG?
It deserves its high reputation IMO.
