Not the QM but I have taken a transatlantic crossing from Southampton to NY It was the maiden voyage of the flashiest new ship on the seas.

No, it wasn’t the Titanic. It wasthe Norwegian Epic which was built on the English Channel I took the maiden voyage that brought it to the US.
It was late June and early July and it was still cold and foggy over the Atlantic much of the time. Enjoy the inside of the ship.

My favorite place to eat before nighttime events around there is the pizza and wine happy hour from 3-5 at Domenica in the Roosevelt.

Other than that, the Copper Vine is good and is closer.

LePavillion is a good choice.
I like it when it is cooked properly in a good restaurant. Cafe Degas comes to mind. The reason you don’t see it more often is because there is only one small piece of hangar steak on each cow.
That is a slap on the wrist. They should have at least given him a shot suspension.

We stayed in the Hotel Pod Vezi.
We ate dinner there last night. The weather has been beautiful so we sat outside on the patio right next to the stone wall that is the entrance gate to the Charles Bridge. It was a good restaurant and we were commenting on how we would like to stay there in the future if the Augustine is unavailable.

I am in the Houston airport right now on my way back.

Prague- A Live Report

This is a live report from Prague, that in the last three days has become one of my new favorite vacation cities.
I am here following a very enjoyable Viking river cruise on the Rhine and Danube.
I have been to a number of medieval old towns in Europe but this one is right up there with the best.

Our hotel is just steps from the Charles Bridge When you stand on the Charles Bridge and pivot 360 degrees, you can see some of the most impressive examples of architecture imaginable and it goes on for miles. An architectural history lesson can be conducted from there. There are towers and statues, domes, spires and steeples of centuries old churches and the red tiled roofs of buildings that look the same as they did in medieval times. And all of the designs are elaborate and ornate.

We are staying at the Hotel Augustine. It is in a building that was part of a Catholic monastery in the 13th century. It is still a working monastery and four monks still live here.

The resident monks started brewing a rich, dark beer on the premises 700 years ago. They would drink it in their beer hall, a bright room with frescoes on the vaulted ceiling.

I am typing this from that same beer hall sipping beer made from the same recipe. It is delicious.
The room is now called the Refractory Bar and the preserved frescoes are still on the ceiling.

This has been a great trip.

If anyone is considering putting Prague on their vacation list, do not hesitate to do so. I can’t wait to come back.
I can hear him on the radio.
I was listening to that on very low volume on a bus from Budapest to Prague.

Bring a letter from your insurance company confirming coverage and that the claim is being handled. Show it to the DA or City Attorney before you even get to the judge. That is how you get a good break. That is how it works in the New Orleans area.
That’s what my wife says but I can’t help myself.
On the Danube sailing from Vienna to Budapest. Trying to figure out what time I have to wake up in the middle of the night to listen to Hebert and Detillier.
You might have to join the College of Cardinals.

Eat at the bar of one of the restaurants at the Venetian. If you like seafood eat at the Greek seafood restaurant. Bouchon is good too.
I have been talking about it a little bit on the travel board under Castles on the Rhine.
