Austin is a great city, HANDS DOWN the best in Texas.

Many decades ago in the case of UT. Except for 2005 the last Texas team to win a natty was all white and running the wishbone (1969).

I figured it would be Texas.
I didn't think he'd really end up at Georgia. If you're a big time QB talent, why go to Athens and waste it on Kirby Smart's "I'm the stick, you're the bottlecap" offense? Makes no sense.
That left Texas, LSU, Ole Miss, and Alabama. Hard to see a child of Ole Miss Rebels and Tennessee Volunteers going to Alabama. Plus, Manning being the prohibitive favorite to start's not on the table. Scratch Alabama.
I don't think the Mannings care for Lane Kiffin. I think that's why Ole Miss wasn't a finalist, and probably wasn't seriously in the running; that's why Kiffin was all in on Jaxon Dart. Scratch Ole Miss.
LSU got in the horserace too late, and Brian Kelly is more of an unknown commodity. The LSU/Ole Miss angle might have played a modest part. Scratch LSU.
So that leaves Texas. Texas has been down a long time, and if Manning can lead them to prominence, he'll be a legend down there. He won't be in any family member's shadow. Texas isn't an SEC school yet, so no rivalry problems. And Texas is extremely wealthy and the media loves any chance to say the Longhorns are back.
Can Six Win Steve do it with Arch? Is Arch really all that and a bag of chips? Don't know, but we're about to find out.

In all seriousness, this shows where Ole miss football is in minds of people. Eli (Cooper was not rated very high) was the only Manning great to go to Ole miss in the footsteps of the greatest legacy the school has. Never will there be a more revered player than Archie and all these Mannings go elsewhere. Ole Miss is just an after thought and I've always wondered why.
Aside from that 2013 class with Nkemdiche and Treadwell, absolutely correct. Ole Miss is not as important as they think they are. Might be appealing to frat stars but it’s not appealing to 5 stars.
They are historically a smaller university. They don’t have a very large fan base thus causes them to have a smaller stadium. They are near Memphis which can be a positive or negative depending on your outlook. Kids don’t want to go play in a 60K stadium in a small town in Mississippi. They want a 100K stadium near a major metro.
As a student, IMO I think Ole Miss is a solid choice. I would allow my kids to go there for school.

Really I look at this as a win for A&M. Jimbo showed great restraint and forsight in not bringing arch to college station. The manning family is a cancer. Maybe he’ll follow in his uncles footsteps and lead the SEC in testicles per trainer face.

I'm glad we didn't get him.
1. I prefer a mobile QB.
2. Our quarterbacks have to compete for the position and Manning will no doubt come to camp expecting to start immediately.
3. Manning will be entrenched making it difficult to recruit other high-level prospects.
4. And frankly I don't think the Manning family influence would be a net positive for our team.

What’s the Sark appeal?
He was mediocre at Washington.
His best season ever was 9-4 at USC.
He hasn’t had a winning season yet at Texas.
$o what i$ the $ark appeal?

Relax, Alice. We’re batting .500 with Mannings.
we literally just signed SIXTEEN 4stars. Jaxson Dart, Michael Trigg, Zach Evans, etc.

Sweet! Amazing what a 5-7 season and a little NIL $$$ will net you…

He didn’t commit to the Vols. They got their 5* guy awhile ago. Arch was a terrible fit for Huepels system and the got an ideal fit in Nicholaus Iamaleava (5* .9978 6’5 200/needs to add 20 pounds) and he has a brother in the class of 25 that is in the same mold.

Correct, OM has many drawbacks and the new NIL era is not going to be kind to that school. The Mannings don't like Kiffin and I don't blame them.
I think Arch is as good as advertised, but I find UT a strange choice even though I am sure there is a lot of money involved and he can start sooner than he could have at Bama or UGA. If you want to be the best you should want to be in the SEC right now, not at some school that is not joining the conference until 2025. Lucky for Arch he is playing in an era in which he can change schools at the drop of a hat.

The manning clan has looked more for a place that can showcase and develop a QB than win. Eli and Payton followed Cutcliff and he likely recommended Milwee and Sark. No decent QB that wants to be a QB is going to UGA, Bamas staff turns too much for the manning to be comfortable. Texas gives money, high profile, and by 25 he will be ready to play against the SEC.

EXACTLY - it is ironic to think A&M is the bad boy of NIL when everyone else is breaking the bank

Sark can sell the QB guru angle. He obviously was instrumental in the Bryce Young recruitment.
Anyway, I assumed this was a done deal when that package deal mediocre, 3 star Tight End buddy of his Will Randle committed a week ago.

Don't be bringing facts up to the sips, I'm 52 years old and they have one natty in my lifetime but they are always screaming blue blood this and blue blood that
