ESPN used to run office linebacker commercials with Terry Tate. In one of those, he violently form tackles a tall blonde woman who was the HR / sensitivity trainer, after she makes a pass at a male coworker. That tackle is the plot turn: she is fired and Tate goes back to policing the office. In that same short he also says his tackling “knows no race, gender, or creed.”

That was funny too due to is absurdity. No one cared.

Nor did they care when Peyton Manning did SNL skits beaming little kids in the head with a football.

I agree it was a joke video and this isn’t a big deal but we live in a culture where optics matter and arch and sark are public figures. The video also doesn’t leave a lot of alternative interpretations as it’s super short and is basically sark backhanding holly r. So basically he’s laughing at that portion, which is not a good look even if it’s a joke.
To be clear, I don't care if it didn't include Sark running away making horns on his head, which is funny. People wanting to police what other people find funny is just fricking absurd. Again, being uncomfortable makes people laugh. It's the basis for humor. People make content that they think is funny and people are free to laugh or not get it. Laughing at something doesn't mean you condone it. America's Funniest Home Videos was built on kids and old people busting their asses. No one would want that to happen to someone, but we laugh our asses off when it does. I can't believe I'm here trying to explain this.

Don't ever apologize to those people. Because it will never satisfy them.

So you're saying Holly is beneath him? How so?

People are shitting on holly Rowe pretty much because she isn’t physically attractive

She's a 60 year old cancer survivor. Are we expecting her to be a bikini model?

Honest question, any other team’s QB1 have to navigate anything like Arch?

Does qb1 at your school have EVERY SINGLE moment of his life analyzed, judged, or dissected? And put on blast globally?

Arch is trying to live his best life… bc that’s only way to get through.. and only way he knows to be at his best both on/off field

Are you serious? Every QB in the Big 6 and a few outside of it has to navigate this. QBs at top schools outside the SEC navigate this. Plus, unlike the majority of other QB1s Arch has been raised since birth on how to do this.

IMO, there’s a difference in something that’s legitimately a joke (and all parties undertstanding that) and passed around AI slop used to shame someone for doing their job.

I'm not sure that's an accurate portrayal of what occurred.

In 2005 Franking referred to Holly Rowe as "sweetheart" during a game, and was reprimanded internally. He was not fired for that incident.

In 2011 he referred to Jeannine Edwards as sweet baby on the air, and then when she objected he called her an a-hole.

The Rowe incident was referenced, but it was the Edwards incident that got him fired. He was on the air for over 6 years after what happened with Rowe.

I laugh, I love jokes, and I am not a square in any capacity.

As a public figure, laughing and verbally confirming you found it hilarious watching someone being slapped across the face (and a woman) is not the same thing as watching Americas Funniest Home videos. Find me 1 video of that in AFM, I bet you cant.

I cant believe I am here having to explain the differences to you!

This isnt a huge deal, but its not a good look period
